Chapter 31

Jerome's POV

When the girls get back from dress shopping Jenny sits down on the bed where I am, playing with Lily.

"Hey," she says."Hi, Lily!" She picks Lily up and kisses her forehead.

"Hi. How was dress shopping?" I ask.

"Good. Did you record?"

"Yeah."

"Who watched Lily?"

"Me."

"Jerome, what if she started dying in the middle of a recording?!"

"Jenny, it's not gonna happen."

"Don't say that, mister. It could very well happen!"

"Don't call me mister." She puts Lily in her crib.

"Don't call you mister?" she asks as she inches closer.

"Yeah."

"Hmmm..." She leans in and kisses me for about a minute.

"I need to record more," I say after she pulls away."No woods."

"Why not, Jerome?! I'll be fine! What happened last time won't happen again!"

"I don't want to almost get killed by a wolf again!" I scream. Tears trickle down her face.

"Don't...yell...at...me..."

"I'm sorry, Jenny." She shakes her head and runs out of the room, slamming the door behind her."Jenny wait!"

I'm too late, though. I get on my computer.

After an hour of recording Jenny comes back up. She picks Lily up and starts rocking her. Her phone starts to ring.

"Hello?" she says as she answers her phone. "Hey, Aurey! Really? Alright, do you wanna record it over here? We have a recording studio in the basement. Yeah. Alright. I'll text you the address. Alright. Do you want me to call Tiff? Call Lilac? I don't need to, hang on." she puts her hand over the speaker. "Lilac! Aurey's on the phone!"

Lilac comes running in.

"Really?" she asks.

"Yeah," Jenny answers. "See, we live together, Aurey. Alright, I'll call Tiff. Awesome, this will be great!"

"What was it?" Lilac asks as they walk out of the room.

After they leave I pick Lily up and walk over to Mitch's room.

"May I help you?" he asks.

"I'm just kinda bored."

"Okay. Let's teach this young child how to use Betty!" Mitch says.

"Okay," I say.

I go back to my room and play Hunger Games with Mitch.
