Mitch's POV

Lilac sits down on the edge of our bed. Her eyes glossy. I take a seat next to her.

"What's wrong?" I ask putting my hand on her thigh.

She pulls herself onto my lap. She rests her head on my shoulder and closes her green, brown eyes. I feel the tears falling off her face onto my shoulder.

"Why are you crying?" I asked.

"I just realized I miss mom more than I did when I saw her life being taken away, right in front of my eyes too." She said sniffling.

"It'll be ok." I said rubbing her back.

She lifted up her head. "How do you love me?"

"What?" I asked, looking at her like she was crazy.

"Like, how do you deal with me and my crazy attitude and emotions?" Her face was relaxed and calm.

"Because I love when you are sassy and you are adorable when you cry. You are a sweet girl and I've loved you since we were little." I said giving her a soft kiss on the forehead.

"But still, if I were you I would of left by now." She said, hanging her head.

"Lilac, we've known each other since we were born! How could you think I would leave you?"

"I don't know. I'm just full of questions right now." She said, on the verge of crying.

"No no no, stop crying." I said whipping the tears from her eyes.

She sniffled. She stood up and walked to the computer.

"What are you doing?" I asked taking a seat next to her.

"I need to do stuff for the wedding. I'm making the sound track that will play." She sniffled once again.

"Can I help?"

"No now. Maybe later." Her shoulders slightly shrugged.

"Why not?"

"Because, I don't want your help right now."

"Yes you do."

I stood up and swooped her off her chair. I opened the door and carried her downstairs.

"Put me down!" She whined.

But I kept walking. Through the kitchen, out the back door, to the edge of the pool.

"Mitchell Donald Ralph Hughes, if you throw me into this pool I will-" She said with rage, until she was caught off by something or someone that was in the driveway.

"Who is that?" I let her leave my arms. Her eyes widened and mouth dropped. "I need to get inside."

She took off running towards the house, I followed. Through the door, into the kitchen, up the stairs and into our room.

"Who was that?" I asked shutting the door.

She was sitting on the edge of the bed curled up in a ball. "I-I-It was this g-g-guy back f-f-from Arizona." She stuttered.

"Who?"

"His n-n-name is J-j-j-Jacob. He's liked me since I-I-I was 10. For 5 years I ran around, telling him that I didn't l-l-like him and that when we, you and I, started dating that you would kill him if he ever touched me."

My eyes where as wide as hers once were.

"I guess he saw me last week and saw you pick me up from the airport. He's here for me."

"I'll take care of this." I rubbed her back.

"Thanks."

I stood up and walked out the door. Just then the doorbell rang. I answered the door, acting like I didn't know him.

"Hello? May I help you?" I asked.

"Hi. I'm here to see Samantha." He said poking his head through the door.

"Sir I'm going to have to tell you that one, to get your head out of my house and two, that there is no Samantha here."

"There has to be. And you don't tell me what I can and can't do." He poked my chest.

Soft steps came down the stairs.

"Samantha.." Jacob said slowly.

"Jacob, it's no longer Samantha."

"Now let me see my beautiful girlfriend."he started to push past me.

"Um, girlfriend? She's my fiancée so she can't be your girlfriend." I pushed him back.

"Fiancée huh? Samantha, what about us?"

"There was and never will be an us, now if you don't mind you can leave now." She slamming the door shut.

"I WILL GET YOU TO BE MINE!!" Jacobs yell was slowly fading away.

"Thanks babe." She said laying her head in my sholder.

"No problem." I said.

We walked back upstairs and into our room.

"I'm tired." She yawned.

"Me too." I yawned back.

She slipped into bed. I did the same. She curled up by me.

"Nap time." I whispered.

All she did was giggle quietly.
