Chapter 37

Jenny's POV

"Lilac, calm down! Tell me, what's wrong?" I say over the phone.

"I-i-i-i can't tell you!" she says.

"Lilac, I'm your best friend. You can tell me anything." My voice starts to crack and a wall of tears build up over my eyes.

"Jenny, I'm sorry..."

"No, no, no. Please, no. Please tell me! I'm your best friend! We tell each other everything!"My dam holding my tears back breaks and the spill over like a river.

"Jenny..."

"Please? Lilac?"

"Alright. I'll tell you," she finally says.

"Okay, thanks. I never ever wanna lose you," I say. My tears are starting to drip on the kitchen floor.

"I'm pregnant."

"What? I thought you said that you didn't want any kids for a while..."

"I don't!"

"Then...how...when...who?..."

"Clearly Mitch! I don't know when, though..."

"Were you guys underage drinking?"

"What?!" she screamed through the phone.

"I take that as a no."

"When do you think it would've been?

"Three days ago at the earliest. But we weren't at home then. Was it the night before we left?" I ask.

"Oh....I think so..."

"Lilac, I tell you're embarrassed right now and don't be! Tell me your location so I can pack us both some clothes and figure this out together."

"Alright. I'm at Tiffany's house. You have her address. Just grab me some random clothes. Tell Mitch that I love him. Don't tell anyone about what I am. Got it?"

"Got it. Bye, I'll see you soon," I say and hang up.

I run upstairs and start packing my clothes.

"What are you doing?" Jerome asks.

"Packing."

"Why?"

"I'm going to Tiffany's house."

"What reason?"

"I can't tell you," I say firmly.

"Jenny."

"I'm not telling you! I'm taking my equipment so I can record."

"Just for recording? You aren't going for any other reasons?"

"Lay off me, Jerome!"

"Jenny, what's gotten into you?!"

"Jerome, please. I know what I'm doing."

"I love you," he says as he picks me up.

"I love you, too."

I finish packing and do the same with Lilac's things.

"Lilac wanted me to tell you that she loves you. She'll miss you and we'll be back soon," I say to Mitch.

"Where is she?!" Mitch says. He hasn't stopped crying since Lilac left.

"Mitch, calm down. She's okay."

I walk out and load all the stuff into the trunk of my car. I tell Jerome goodbye and kiss him. I tell the others goodbye as well. I tell Lily goodbye, also.

I drive off and get to Tiffany's house. I knock on the door. Lilac answers and she helps me with our stuff. We get in and chill out.
