Just Another Day

Chapter 9

Jason's POV

---2 weeks later---

I sit next to Jenny at the hospital. Lily is already home. She sleeps in Jenny and Jerome's closet. Mitch and Lilac with Adam, Jerome, and I helped transform the closet into a baby luxury room.

"Jenny," I say. I'm holding her hand.

I look away and look back a few minutes later. She starts to open her eyes. She widens here eyes and falls out of her bed.

"I can see my toes! Jason? Where are the others?" she says.

I can't help but laugh. I almost wrap my arms around her and kiss her but I know better.

"Jenny! You've been out in a coma for 2 weeks! Everybody else is at home. Lily is safe and at home. We made your closet into a baby luxury room. It's great to have you talking and moving again," I say.

"Okay, thanks," she says. She gives me one of her magical smiles.

She can brighten a room just by smiling. I love her magical smiles. They're beautiful.

"You're welcome," I say awkwardly.

"Oh, Lily! How has she been? Who's she been with and everything?"

"She's been with Jerome a lot. Adam and I have been babysitting her a lot. Lilac is a fantastic godmother. Everything, well almost every, has been great," I say.

"What's wrong? You seem...off. You don't seem to be yourself. You're kinda bitter and different. What's wrong?"

"I found the girl, Jenny. There's just one flaw..."

"Who? What's the flaw?"

"It's...it's...it's," I stop talking and kiss her.

"Jason!" she squeals.

"I-I-I-I'm so sorry. I-I-I'll go," I say, turning beet-red. I quickly start towards the door.

"Jason come back!" Jenny says. I slowly walk back, hot tears dripping down my face.

"What?" I say.

"Jason, I'm married. I'm sorry. I'm a mother and I'm married. I'm in love with someone else. Jason, I'm sorry. I love like a brother but not...not.." she says. Tears start dripping down her face.

"Jenny. Oh, I've loved ever since you moved in. I just...it's just..."

"Complicated. I know. It will be okay, Jason. It will," she says. She leans in and gives me a kiss on the cheek. As she pulls back I grab her waist and kiss her. "Jason. I'm a married mother. Please."

"I'm sorry," I say.

"Don't be. You're a good kisser. You'll find the right girl, Jason, you will," she says and gives me a quick kiss on the lips, this time."It's just not me."

"Okay. Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"I need to call the others and tell them you're up. We need to get you home."

"Okay."

We call the others and check Jenny out.

---Time Skip---

We get home and everyone is there.

"Welcome home, pumpkin!" Jerome says and they run up to each other. He picks her up and twirls her around. Then, he pulls her in and kisses her, bit by bit, until it's making out.

I signal Alesa to hand me Lily. She gives me Lily and I know what's coming. Lily always cries when I hold her. The crying makes the spouses stop making out.

"Lily!" Jenny squeals and I hand Lily over to Jenny. She tears up and holds Lily tight.

Jenny holding onto Lily and Jerome makes me slip farther all the more....
