Chapter 39

Jerome's POV

"Jenny, I need to talk to you," I say when Jenny starts unpacking.

"Yeah?" she says quietly.

"Why would you ever do that without telling me why or where?!" I raise my voice.

"Jerome! Stop! It was something I needed to do!"

"Why?!"

"I CAN'T TELL YOU!!" she screams as she slams her suitcase down and runs out of the room.

"Jenny wait!" I yell. But I'm too late.

I run down the stairs after her but she slams the front door shut and runs out of the house. She gets into her car and speeds away.

"What happened with her?" Lilac says.

"I asked her why she left," I say. Lilac face palms her forehead.

"Not again. This is all my fault..."

"No, it's not," I say.

Lilac goes back upstairs. I try calling Jenny but she doesn't answer.

"Biggums? You okay?" Mitch says, peeking his head through my bedroom door.

"No," I say.

"Come on, cheer up!"

"I'll try. Where's my child?" I say.

"She's in our room with Lilac."

"Okay, thanks."

"Hey, wanna get the whole thing off your mind and play some cops and robbers?"

"Yeah. Who's gonna be there?"

"It's gonna be Klüb IcE. Adam, Gizzy, Lilac, Jason, you, and me."

"Alright."

"Let's go shake our bootiess!!" he says as he shakes his booty.

"Yeah!" I say and start shaking mine.

---3 hours later---

"Jenny, I was so worried about you!" I say as she returns.

"Yeah right," she says with attitude.

"Jenny, I'm sorry for yelling at you," I say.

"Apology accepted," she says and goes up to our room.
