Chapter 27

Jerome's POV

(A few days later)

I arrive at the airport to pick Jenny up. When I see her with her luggage she sprints over, drops her luggage, and jumps into my arms. She starts sobbing.

"Sshh, it's okay. It's okay," I try to comfort her.

"I-I-I-I m-m-missed you," she says.

"I missed you, too." I start running my fingers out along her back, trying to find her hair. Then I remember that she got it cut.

"I'm sorry that I got my hair cut and dyed," she sobs.

"No, no, no, it's okay, pumpkin," I say.

"No, it's not. I know you hate it. I'm gonna dye it back and grow it out. It won't take too long for it to grow back."

"Let's get home," I say.

"Okay." She jumps out of my arms and we load her luggage in.

We get back home.

"Woah, Jerome, who's this?" Jason says. Jenny starts dropping to her knees. She's crying again.

"Shut up, Jason! This is Jenny. Come on, pumpkin," I say, trying to help her up. She's now curled in a ball.

I end up getting her back up and up the stairs. We get to our room and unload the luggage.

"Jenny, you need to calm down," I say.

"I can't!" she cries.

"Yes, you can. Come on, pumpkin," I plead.

"I'll try."

"How was the funeral?" I ask. Immediately after I get the words out, I regret them.

She starts screaming and sobbing and crying. She curls up into a ball on he floor.

"JENNY!" I scream. "Get control!"

But she doesn't. I have to pick her up. I slam her on the bed and pin her down. She just screams louder. Lilac and Mitch come bursting through the door.

"What the hell is going on?!" Mitch and Lilac scream.

"Lilac, help me! She's losing her control!" I scream.

"Okay!" she screams back.

She sprints to the bed and takes the pinning. She pins Jenny's shoulders down with her knees. I quickly put my hand on her mouth to quiet her down. She continues screaming and I begin stroking her hair to calm her down. She soon stops screaming and just sobs as tears quickly spill down her face. I uncover her mouth and give her a kiss. That seemed to have calmed her down a bit.

"Thanks, Lilac," I say as she leaves the room with Mitch.

"No problem," she says.

"I-I-I-I-I-I'm......I'm sorry," Jenny says.

"Sshh... It's okay. Calm down," I say.

"I'm sorry," she says. She curls in a ball and starts crying harder.

"Hey, princess, pick your head up. Your tiara is falling," I say. She stops crying immediately. She looks at me, stunned.

She loves that phrase. Her mom would always tell it to her. Lilac always said it to her, also. It's made a big impact on her life. She can stop crying when you say that. She'll gain her control again, if you say it. It changes her, I swear it does.

"Jerome," she says. I'm sitting at the edge of the bed so she get up.

She walks over to me and sits on my lap. She wraps her arms around me and I wrap mine around her. She rests her head on my shoulder. I kiss her forehead. She looks up at me and kisses me, straight on the lips.

"I love you," I say. I start stroking her hair.

"I love you, too," she says. "Thank you, for saying that. I'm sorry I lost control. It's just....I miss Mom. She had the most amazing ways. The way she looked; gosh, she was so pretty-"

"Now we know where you get your looks from," I rub her shoulder.

She laughs and carries on. "But, she had the best words. She could say anything to make anyone calm down and they would. She was the best girl I knew. Now, Lilac is. But, nobody could ever take her place. Mom was so smart. Oh, she was so amazing. She could light up a room with just a smile. She was always the one that I always wanted to be around. I just...loved her so much. She was so loving and caring."

"That's exactly how to describe you. You are just like your mom," I say.

"Get out. I am not," she says.

"You so are," I argue.

"I a-" she starts but I shut her up with a hard, long kiss. A kiss that turns into making out.
