First (Draco Malfoy x reader)

Chapter 2- the sorting

  You sit in a carriage an can now see the majestic walls of Hogwarts getting closer. You lost Luna somewhere in the crowd of people getting off the train and are now sitting with some really excited third years. You said hi to them, and they answered, but that was it. They went back to talking to each other and you don't think it is worth the effort so you started to stare in front of you.

You look at the people in the wagon next to yours and see the blond guy -Draco- looking at you.

But the moment is really short, so you could have been mistaken. He probably didn't look at you, but just happened to look a way from his friends for a bit. This happens a few times more, but it most certainly is a coincident. Why would he look at you anyway? It's not like you know each other or anything. You decide to concentrate on the castle getting closer.

"It is now time for the sorting of our new first years. But before that, I would like to welcome a new student to the fifth year. Y/N L/N has been studying at home until now, and I expect you all the welcome her as the great friend I know she will be. Please, ms L/N, come and begin this year's sorting ceremony!"

You can feel your cheeks blush as you walk to the hat. Feeling the eyes burning upon you makes you blush even more. Concentrate Y/N, there isn't anyone here. You are all alone with that hat. Just go and get your house and it will all be over soon you think to yourself.

Somehow, when you're in front of all these people with the hat on your head, you start to feel calmer. This isn't so bad, right? Now you'll soon be able to answer Luna's question of which house you belong to. The hat mumbles something and then shouts out for everyone to hear:
"RAVENCLAW"

You can see one of the tables starting to clap their hands a lot, cheering on you to get over there and join them. You feel relieved. This was great! On the train you had already made a friend, and now you were in the same house as her! You sit down, being greeted by everyone around you and join them in welcoming all the first years.

After eating an enormous dinner, you walk with everyone else back to the dorms. You are told by a boy named Anthony that Ravenclaw is the only house that doesn't have a password, since only a true Ravenclaw is smart enough to figure out the answer to the question asked. You decide to act surprised, even though you already know this. You had done quite a lot of reading into Hogwarts so that you wouldn't end up in a situation where everyone thought you were stupid just because you didn't know something they found obvious. Your eyes meet with Luna's and you can see that she knows you are faking your surprise, and gives you a little smile.

You go to look for your room, and find that you have been placed in a separate room. Well, you came a lot later than the others, and since you were placed with others in your year it made sense that all the other dorms were full. A bit sad that you won't get a roommate but at the same time relieved that you won't have to change your habits to fit someone else's, you begin to unpack your luggage. Done with about half, and the rest of your clothes being at your bed, you suddenly fall asleep.
