First (Draco Malfoy x reader)

chapter 16 - back to Hogwarts

During the rest of the summer you met with Mandy a couple of times. Neither of you heard anything from Su except two short letters only saying she was fine and having a good time.

"I am so going to press her for every single detail when we see her." Mandy says with a very evil laugh.

Of course you wanted to see Su as well and know what she'd been up to, but you were thinking more of Draco. After he'd visited you had had a lot of contact, but as the summer went by you had gotten less and less letters which had contained less and less information about what he'd been up to. Normally, like with Su, that just meant she was happy and wanted to tell everything later instead of small pieces in letters, but with Draco it had been different. You could feel something was wrong and that he was unhappy or worried about something, even though you doubted he'd let it shine through when you met.

"What? Yeah let's interrogate her thoroughly. It's only like half an hour until we arrive at King's cross station so we'll meet her soon."

Mandy had been staying at your house the last week so you were going together to the station.

You see Draco at the platform and run up to him, wrapping your arms around him and burying your face in his neck, refusing to let go.

"Hey sweetie, what's wrong?" He whispers in your ear, holding you as tight as you hold him.

"I don't know and I don't really care as long as it isn't too hard for you. You don't have to tell me anything please just know that I would never tell anyone anything you tell me so if things get too hard just let me help you the best I can." You whisper back.

Draco releases you a bit, just so he can look at you. Then he rests his forehead against yours.

"How come you know everything without me telling you? I'm so glad I have you you know? I can't tell you what's going on but I'd be happy if I could just come to you whenever I need a break from reality and without having to explain everything. Is that ok with you?"

"Of course it is. I love you and I want you to be happy but if there's something you have to do I won't ask questions, I'll just trust you'll solve whatever it is."

"OI Y/N!" Mandy is yelling, coming up to you together with Millicent. "I think I know now what Su's been up to!" She points.

At the end of the platform you see Su coming, but she's not alone. She's holding hands with Terry.

"Omg he finally succeeded!" You say. The rest of the group looks at you a bit confused so you continue: "after the dance last year, when you accidentally told the guys about it Mandy, he came up to me asking about Su and who she'd been there with. He clearly had a crush on her but I didn't think he'd do anything about it, and I didn't think she thought of him that way. I guess I was wrong."

Su sees you all and drags Terry behind her to come to you as quickly as possible. She releases him and throws herself at you and Mandy for a group hug.

"I missed you two so so much!!!" She exclaims.

"Not so much that you could bother writing to us telling what you were up to" Mandy says with a raised eyebrow and a smile.

"Well... I really wanted to tell you but then I thought I should tell you after the summer when I knew how things would work out... as you've probably guessed I've been hanging out with Terry a lot and well... he's now my.."

"I'm her boyfriend!" Terry says proudly, coming forward and taking Su's hand.

Mandy puts her hand on Terry's shoulder. "Good job. You've gotten yourself one of the finest girls there is. Just remember I'll kill you if I hear her say anything bad."

"Congrats Terry" you say smiling. "And of course you too Su! Look you finally got your wish through! You are now one of us who have a partner!"

"Speaking of partners, where did yours go Y/N?" Millicent comments.

You notice Draco has disappeared. "Oh, I'm sure he was eager to meet his friends as well. We'll see each other at Hogwarts if not before I suppose." You say sounding a bit surprised.

"You're like this old couple compared to us." Su says. "I wouldn't be able to stand 5 minutes without missing Terry and you two haven't seen each other for a while but you're completely cool with him hanging out with his friends instead since you know where you have him!"

"Yeah, I suppose that's true." You say with a slight chuckle and a smile, even though you on the inside feel really hurt. He could at least have TOLD ME he wanted to go see his friends, not disappeared. And what Su says isn't true. I've really missed him and now he's just walking off?! Then you remembered you had just promised him he could deal with everything in his own pace without having to tell you everything. But I mean -that's a completely different thing!

You see Draco just outside the great hall and run up to him.

"Draco! Where did you go? You just disappeared from the platform!"

"Oh.. sorry. I figured you were busy with your friends so I went to meet mine."

"Well you could at least had said you were leaving!" You say with a pouty face.

"I said I'm sorry." Draco says with a smile. He places his hand at the smaller of your back and leans in to kiss you, which you gladly do back.

You then break away and say "and Su called us an old couple who can be without each other since we know where the other one is anyway! Like we don't wanna be with each other!"

"I actually think she meant it in a good way you know? And I really hope we can be one of those old couples some day. Who know each other really well and know each other's thoughts without it being boring since we would still be so much in love."

You stare at him with wide eyes, taking in what he just said. Of course he had told you he loves you before, but to say he wants to grow old with you and so on, that's completely new and not something you had really expected him to say. You then smile widely, wrapping your arms around his neck and pull him as close to you as you can, kissing him deeply. "I really hope so too."
