First (Draco Malfoy x reader)

Chapter 7- Ill

It continues this way for about two weeks. In front of others, Draco acts cold towards you, but when he thinks no one else is watching, he is a lot nicer and smiles and jokes with you. You know you have a friend in him, but the question is how much he sees it as friendship. He shouldn't have to pretend not talking to you if he actually though you to be his friend, right?

But Draco isn't as good at hiding that he talks to you as he thinks. At least he can't hide it from someone who constantly follows him around, or looks at him. Someone named Pansy Parkinson who happens to be incredibly jealous. She has decided that you are a threat that must be destroyed. But nothing that would look too suspicious.

At first you just notice small things. Things disappearing, your watch showing the wrong time all of a sudden making you late to your classes. The worst thing is when your homework disappears. You had been working so hard to write an essay to perfection, but when it was time to turn it in it was gone. Luckily, you made the teacher believe that you had written it by being able to recite the whole thing.

But you were quickly beginning to feel worse. You feel weak and have trouble concentrating. You don't feel like eating anything, which is definitely not helping. You think it's just some kind of cold and ignore it, but suddenly one day your vision becomes unclear.
You are in charms class. Trying to concentrate on a particularly hard charm, you realise that everything becomes blurry. And you collapse on to the floor.

When you wake up you're in the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey sees you're awake and approaches you.

"Finally. How do you feel, dear?" She asks. "Your classmates came with you. You collapsed in class, but they didn't know why. Do you remember anything?"

You answer that you don't know the reason. That you've been feeling a bit odd the last few days but just thought it was a cold.

"This definitely isn't a cold. You must have eaten or drunk something, but if you have no idea what this is harder. If I knew what it was you could probably get well almost immediately, but now I'll need to do a less effective method so you might be here for a while unfortunately."

"I'll ask my friends to bring me homework, so I'll be fine. And I'm used to hospitals so it feels quite normal being here. Thank you"

She gives you a smile and and makes you drink some kind of liquid. It tastes awful, but makes you feel warm and you fall asleep.

When you wake up you see Luna sitting at the end of your bed reading a magazine.

"Oh, you're awake! I ate some of your chocolate, I hope that was ok? You seemed to have so much"

"umm.. yeah sure" you say, not sure what she's meaning. Then you look at the table beside you and see the enormous pile of candy, flowers, cards and even a stuffed animal. You didn't know you had this many friends that cared about you, and it made you really happy. Especially reading the cards. They are filled with "get well":s and encouraging things. Most of them are from people in Ravenclaw, but there are actually some from Hufflepuffs as well.

"Mandy asked me to bring you homework, so I put it on the floor beside you since it didn't fit on the table. And some issues of The Quibbler for reading" Luna says.

"Thanks, I don't wanna fall behind or miss things from the lessons."

The days passes, you get some visitors, but most of the time you study or sleep.

One morning you wake up and see a card stuffed under your pillow. You open it and begin to read.

Hope you're feeling better.

I heard Pansy talking about some potion she had put in someone's drink that apparently had worked pretty well. I think it was you she was talking about, but I hope it wasn't something dangerous? It was quite scary seeing you collapse in class, I was going to help carrying you to the hospital wing, but you were immediately surrounded by friends that made the rest of us go away. You have a lot of friends that want to protect you and want you to be well, you should be happy. I guess you won't have to look so hard for a place to sit next time on the train 😉  
I hope you're well soon, no one in our class is as good at potions as you and I need a worthy partner.

Wow, Draco had actually written to you! You feel butterflies in your stomach when thinking that he really remembered you from the train and cares about your health.

But this Pansy! You really hated her. Why would she try to poison you?! You's never done anything to offend her, but she acted so mean and had done that right from the beginning. You started planning what way it would be best to get revenge on. Not that you were ever gonna go through with it, but it was a fun way to spend your day.

After the lessons had ended, Mandy came to bring you today's homework. She sees the paper on which you've written all your evil revenge plans. 

"What's that?" She says and points at the paper.

"...that's... here, take a look for yourself" you say and give her the paper. "It's not like I'm actually planning on doing anything if you thought so, I just wanted something to do today, and since I found out Pansy probably poisoned me and that is the reason I'm here it felt like a good idea..."

You see Mandy concentrating on reading. Then she looks up and says "This is way too complicated, even though it's a nice plan. The best way to get back at her would be to steal Malfoy's heart or a kiss or something. Everyone knows how she feels for him and that would probably upset her a lot"

"Th- thats...!" you stutter, really red in your face from the imaginary picture you got inside your head

"haha, take it easy N/N, I was only kidding." she laughs at your reaction.

"I need to get back to the dorms now, hope you'll be better soon!" she says and leaves.

Later in the evening Madam Pomfrey comes to give you dinner and medicin.

"I want you to stay for one day more, just to check that you're completely restored but then you will be able to return, which I'm sure you've been looking forward to"

"Does that mean I can eat some of my candy tonight?" you say with a smile. You haven't been allowed to do that since Mme Pomfrey didn't want to risk anything, and most of your gifts had been eaten of visitors.

"Yes, dear. As long as it's a reasonable amount of course" she says with a small laugh.
