First (Draco Malfoy x reader)

Chapter 12- confessions

It's getting late, so you decide to leave with Su and get back to your dorms. At first Draco and Blaise wants to "see you back safely", but you explain that it isn't necessary since you definitely can do that yourselves and their house rooms are really close to the ball room, so it would just be inconvenient for them. You say goodnight and then you're off.

"So, do you know where Mandy is?" Su askes as soon as your out in the corridor.

"Umm... no" you say and look away. "I- I last saw her when we took a break dancing and then me and Draco went... away for a while and I didn't really pay attention to where she went"

"Ooh you don't mean you actually... went that far?"she says giving you a teasing smile

"NO!" you say blushing incredibly. "We- we kissed. A lot, that's all. And then we went inside and met you."

"I wish I had someone too"

"Well, what about Blaise then?" you say, glad for the change of subject. "You seemed to get along well"

"Yeah, but that's kinda the problem. We had a great time, but as friends. He is totally in the friendzone, when he asked me I hoped it'd be more than that but he really is just..... nice. Nothing more. I just kept catching myself thinking about how it would be to dance with someone else, someone who wouldn't keep me at a safe distance but would try to do.... something. Like you and Draco at the slow dance. Yes, I saw you, don't try to hide it. But it looked exactly like I want it to be for me. Liking someone the way the two of you do, that's my dream."

"And I'm sure you'll get it soon, just wait and see" you say and hug her.

Your room is incredibly cold when you wake up. You usually don't have a problem getting out of bed but right now it feels like an impossible task. You decide that it's weekend anyway so there's no harm staying there for a while. You grab a book from your bedside table and just lie under your quilt reading.

Until someone very ungently rips it off, exposing you to the cold air.

"Get up you lazy person. I bet you haven't had breakfast yet. Mandy hasn't either so go together now before it's over!"

"No, give back my quilt! It was warm and I was happy I don't care about food as long as I'm warm"

But you do as she tells you and get up and dress and go down to breakfast. You meet Mandy and luckily Su decides to join even though she's already eaten. When you're at the table, Su suddenly asks:

"When did you get back last night Mandy? I didn't hear you come in and you disappeared from the party."

"...." Mandy takes a deep breath and the answers, while staring down at her plate. "I have something to tell you but this isn't the right place"

Great! If she was going to tell you about last night, you could just act surprised and then you didn't have to pretend not knowing.

Back in the dorm. You sit all three on your bed, paying attention to every word Mandy utters, even before she's actually started.

"So... I guess I should start. Do you remember when we talked about Ravenclaw-Slytherin couples the first time? It was right after that I realised I had a crush on someone. A Slytherin in fact. But I wasn't sure and I wanted to know my own feelings and figure out what I wanted to do with them before telling you. So I started to connect with that person, and we got along really well. And then, yesterday we went outside to talk during the dance and... well I kinda confessed my feelings. And I was so worried I'd read the signs wrong or something. But I hadn't and we kisses and... well I don't know what we are exactly but I hope I'm right to say we're a couple."

"So who is it, this mysterious person? You didn't say, but spill it!" Su half shouts.

"....It's... It's Millicent"

And Su's jaw drops.

You try to look surprised, and then hug her happily.

"I'm so happy for you!! I wish you'd told us earlier but I totally understand! We can go on double dates or something"

And you look over to Su, saying

"And triple dates when we've found someone for you"

Su still looks thoughtful, and sits quiet. Then she says with a low voice

"So you like.....her?"

"Yes"

"And she likes you"

"Yes, or she hasn't actually uttered the words but I got the message"

Both you and Mandy look nervously on Su. Then Su suddenly shines up, smiles and says

"Well then I don't see a problem with it. I'm really happy for you, you've been my best friend since we started here and I support everything you do!"

"We should meet up with everyone to tell them the exciting news!" You say

"Yeah, or... well, I think I should talk to Millicent first. But we can go to the Slytherin common room together if you wanna try to find Draco?"

Mandy and Millicent comes to you, hand in hand after being away talking for a while. Millicent declares for everyone nearby that they now are an official couple. You run and hug them both.

"Yaay I'm so happy for you!"

"Thank you" says Mandy, blushing a little.

"What do you wanna do today?" You ask. "We should celebrate in some way... what about sneaking into the kitchens, trying to get cake or something?"

"Or maybe they want to be alone right now and not being interfered" says Draco with a meaning smile to you.

"Right... of course... I didn't think of that"

"Actually cake sounds perfect" says Millicent.

On the way to meet up Su, you bump into Terry, Anthony and Michael. You've started talking to them again, but it always feels awkward when Draco is with you. But this time the focus is on your two friends.

Mandy declares the new situation, and adds that she hopes they won't have the same trouble with her girlfriend as they had with your boyfriend. They promise they won't, they are glad you're friends with them again and wouldn't want to ruin it. Then they ask when it happened and Mandy told them what she had told us. Including the dance, which was supposed to be a secret from everyone involved, to which everyone reacted and tried to stop her from saying. But too late, the three guys had already heard her. But they didn't react quite like you had expected. Sure, they asked a few questions and seemed a little betrayed by the fact you hadn't told them, but they didn't make a big deal out of it. Instead, they just joined you on your way to the kitchens.

While walking, Terry stopped you for a moment, wanting to say something without the others hearing. You waited for the others to go ahead for a bit so that he could speak freely.

"What is it?"

"Umm..... It's just... That dance. You mentioned something about it being only for Slytherins and their dates, right?"

"That's right"

"So... Since all three of you went, that means all of you had dates, right? Including Su"

You gave him a small smile. "Yes, including Su. You know who Blake is, right?"

"What - that guy?! Why would she go with someone like him?!"

"Well, first of all because he asked her, and he's actually really nice when you get to know him. And they get along very well."

"Oh, I see.. Then I guess it doesn't matter...." he looks sad, but tries hard not to show exactly how sad. Terry starts walking towards the others, but you stop him and say in a low voice:

"But she only sees him as a good friend, she told me herself that he wasn't anything more.", and then add "Just thought you wanted to know", giving him a broader smile. You see how he tries to hide a smile when he turns away from you, blushing a bit. And then you go to catch up with the others.
