First (Draco Malfoy x reader)

Chapter 11- new couple

  Time to meet up. You have decided that they will be waiting outside your common room and then walk you to the dance. You start walking, but as always when you're getting ready for this sort of thing it's impossible to actually go when you should.

"Aah, wrong shoes"

"Your hair sticks out on a spot!"

"I can't find my necklace!"

"Teeth. Remember to brush your teeth so you don't smell funny"

"Omg what time is it"

"Wait I forgot my wand"

"You won't need that"

"Right!"

"Let's go"

"Wait we can't be flushed from running around. Everyone take a deep breath"

You open the door and outside stands three boys in a group talking to each other. They hear the door open and looks up and smiles when seeing you.

"Wow, you look amazing" Draco whispers before kissing you.

"Come on guys, time to go" Mandy says.

And you're off.

The room looks incredible. At least for something only done by a couple of students. Decorations all over the room which, of course, is coloured in silver and green. You see a few people you recognise but most people are just unknown Slytherins. It's a calm atmosphere, everyone is enjoying themselves, talking and wandering around waiting for it to really start.
A voice echoes through the room and suddenly there's a boy standing on a stage you hadn't realised was there at all. 

"Welcome everyone. Fellow Slytherins and those of you who have found your way here. We mean to begin this as a formal ball, and then we'll see how everything turns out. A great applause to those who have made this possible and then: let the music start!"

Everyone pairs up when the music begins and starts waltzing. It could have felt a bit silly, 13-18 years olds who gather and dance pair dance, but it's not. Everyone is serious with it, but at the same time truly enjoys themselves.

You and Draco move perfectly together, and watching some other people, you really were good at this. You soared around the room, kind of showing off to others but it's really fun.

After a while you decide to take a break and sit down with Mandy and Nott. 

"You guys were great at dancing, have you like, snuck out at night just to practice?" laughs Nott.

"Yeah. Or not. It's just in our nature to be better than others" says Draco in a mocking tone.

"Where's Su?" You ask

"I saw her a while ago, but she just disappeared together with Blaise in the beginning so you're lucky to catch a glimpse of them."

"Well as long as they're enjoying themselves. I'm sure we'll hear everything about it afterwards."

A bit later they start with more regular music. There's a slow dance and Draco stands up inviting you to join him.

"Rested enough? I think the floor is calling for us"

You smile and get up, taking his hand and letting you be led out on the floor.

He holds you steadily, and you dance close to each other. Really close. There's almost no space between you. And now there's none. He kisses you, almost hungrily. You let him for a few seconds, then pull yourself away. 

"I don't think this is what dance floors are for, you know"

"Then let's change the place. We can go outside the room a moment"

"No, you asked me to dance so now let's do that" you say, teasing him.

"Urgh, fine. We finish this song. Then will you come with me?"

You just smile and put your head on his chest.

The song stops playing and almost before you realise it's over, Draco has dragged you off the floor and heads towards the corridor outside. As soon as you're alone, he pulls your back and hips towards himself, holding them firm and starts to kiss you. First on your mouth and then continues down your neck. It feels like time stops and you only live for each other. Then for some reason you look up, and see another couple standing a bit away from you. Which is perfectly normal so you don't think so much about it. Then you realise that you know them.

"Aaah!"

Draco doesn't stop at this so you hit him on the arm to get him to listen.

"What?!" He groans, not happy to have been interrupted and realising you wasn't as into this as he was.

"Look!" you whisper, ignoring his attempt to protest. You point towards the couple.

"Y/N I really didn't think you'd be into watching people this way and I think respecting privacy..."

"Omg no!" You interrupt. "Look at who they are idiot!"

You see his eyes widen when he realises, and then he drags you inside saying "We really shouldn't have seen that."

You find a corner where no on will hear you and as soon as you've stopped walking both of you look at each other and blurt out

"Mandy... she.."

"Millicent"

"I had no idea"

"Me neither, not that that's strange"

"We weren't meant to find out that way"

"No"

"I wonder if they saw us"

"It did not look as if they were noticing the environment so I don't think so"

"What should we do? Should I tell her.."

"No! When she's ready, she'll tell you, I'm sure. Until then, just act like we haven't seen anything"

"But what if she doesn't tell me and everything gets really awkward? I mean, since we'd both be hiding something"

"We don't know how long this has been going on. Maybe it's brand new. Some couples want to take their time before telling people, just to be sure of what they have. Let them have that. And start practising your acting skills"

"...I know you're right. I just hope it's sooner rather than later. My poker face sucks."

"You'll do anything for your friends so I'm sure you'll succeed."

Su and Blaise joins you a while later. Completely exhausted from dancing.

"We've done every single dance until now. How are you? Did we miss something?"

"Nope" Draco answered
