First (Draco Malfoy x reader)

Chapter 13 - happenings

It's almost summer now. Time to go home soon, and exams all the time. You're taking your O.W.L.s and hopefully you've managed to get good results on all of them, at least you thought you'd done very well in your favourite subjects. Let's just hope the judges thought the same.

You meet up with Draco after class. He seems a bit distracted.

"Hi you. I haven't seen you for ages." You say and kiss him.

"What are you talking about, it's only been one lesson since I saw you." He says with a confused look on his face. It still seems like his mind is a bit elsewhere. You wave your hand in front of his face to catch his attention.

"You do know such a thing as sarcasm exists don't you?"

"Uhm.. sorry. Yes of course I do."

"So what were you thinking about? And don't say nothing because it clearly was something."

"Yes... Y/N, this summer- would you like to come visit sometime? I have to check with my parents first of course but I really don't want to not see you all summer."

"Of course I do!" You say with a big smile. "And you can almost certainly come to my house if you want to too!"

"Great!" He says with an almost relieved expression. Had it actually been that hard to ask? The answer was so obvious.

"Mandy get your girlfriend to be quiet I need to study!" You yell.

"She's an individual perfectly capable of understanding you if you just ask her instead" Mandy yells back from the bathroom.

You look over at Millicent who has now been joined by Su. They're dancing some kind of dance around the common room, making weird noises and both have tears in their eyes from laughing.

"Millicent PLEASE" you beg, then add "SU SHUT UP I'M ACTUALLY TRYING TO DO SOMETHING USEFUL HERE"

They just start laughing harder and you throw a book at them. "Aren't you supposed to be back at your own common room now anyway? I mean the only reason I'm still here is that it's too late to go to the library."

"Maybe" she answers.
"I don't get why you need to study anyway, you've already taken the O.W.L exam in transfiguration anyway. There's no need to keep studying and doing all the homework perfectly."

"Except I actually want to learn things in school and try my best. I don't do this just to pass exams like some other people" you say and give her a look that clearly states she's one of those people.

"We clearly understand you Y/N, but I think you can afford ONE night off." Mandy says while walking into the common room.

"Fine." You sigh, putting away your books (including the one that lays on the floor). "I don't seem to be able to get anything done anyway."

You stand up, walking slowly to the middle of the room with a bitter expression on your face. Su and Millicent have slowed down a bit, watching if you were actually upset. Then all of a sudden you do a really dramatic pose and start dancing their dance. They quickly join in and you all have a really nice evening together.

"Guys have you heard? There was a fight at the ministry of magic! Potter's been right all year! You-know-who really is back." Terry comes running towards you after breakfast. "They caught some Death eaters."

"What?! I can't believe it! He's really back? That's awful" you say.

"Y/N... one of the death eaters they caught was Malfoy's dad"

"...no!" You stare at Terry for a second. Then add "I need to check on Draco. This can't be happening!"

You start running towards the Slytherin common rooms. He must be so upset. And what about my great summer visiting Draco' family? The thought briefly crosses your mind but you quickly push it away. That's not what's important now. Draco's wellbeing is.

You almost crash into him in the stairs down to the dungeons. "Draco I heard what happened! Are you ok?!"

"I don't want to talk about it." He says with an angry tone in his voice.

"But Draco, your dad.. he-"

"I said I don't want to talk about it!" Ok that definitely was a very angry voice. He must have seen you flinch at his answer, because he adds with a much nicer voice "I'm sorry, is it ok if we can just pretend it haven't happened? I don't want to think about it right now."

You give him a small smile and a hug. "Of course."

After a little while you add "I don't think we should go to our lessons today. Let's do something fun instead."

He stares back at you. "Wait, did I hear right? Y/N, the pupil with straight O:s in every subject who even studies for the fun of it and who has never missed a class ever is saying we should cut school? Something really must be wrong with the world today."

"Oh shut up, it's not that surprising. Ok, maybe it is but my friends have convinced me it's the end of the year anyway" and then then add more quietly "and you can't know I have straight O:s until we get our results"

"I appreciate the gesture Y/N, but that's all I need. I don't want you to skip school because of me. Besides, next class is potions and we have that together so that won't be so bad."
