Chapter 14:
(Harry's POV)
"Where is she going?" I asked as she left. Liam had his hands on his head in frustration. He looked devastated.
"What happened?" Louis asked Liam. Liam turned to through an ornament in frustration across the room before walking back to him room. Whatever happened and whatever was said was clearly enough to get to Liam. Zayn and Louis followed him leaving me alone.
I decided I would do my own investigation and follow her. After I vampire sped out the door, I watched as she ran down the stairs from the banister, creating more distance between us. There was a tugging feeling in the back of my head not wanting to let her go. I vampire sped down to the bottom as she walked out the door. I stopped myself from going any further. What was I doing? With everyone not telling me what happened, and seeing how she reacted when she came here compared to how she left made me know she more than me.
I couldn't let that be the last time I saw her. I needed answers and I never shy away from getting them. Her scent already locked in, I decided to follow it. Her scent led me to her, walking up a green hill big enough to look over the entire city. I watched from afar not knowing if approaching her would upset her further or simply watch to see what she would do next. Watching her made me feel relaxed. Knowing she was there and safe under my watch but the confusing thoughts to rest. She sat on the grass and began crying, looking into the palms on her lap.
I could stand here and watch this. Watch her upset. I didn't know I cared. About half an hour ago, she was a stranger. Now I was caring that she was crying? Her hair fell from behind her ear and went in front of her face. The scent of her blood like a wave with the movement of her hair.
I decided to approach her. I came here for answers and staying at the bottom of hill wasn't going to get me far. I vampire sped up the hill and stood next to her making her jump out of her skin.
"Oh god. I hate when you do that." She commented quickly turning her head to wipe away the tears. Were the tears because of what happened back at the apartment?
"So you do know me then?" I asked crossing my arms.
"What are you doing here?" She asked simply. She wasn't scared or worried like others would if a stranger approached them. She was familiar with me and my ways which only brought more questions.
"I asked a question first." I stated as she looked at me. She didn't look amused with my answer and rolled her eyes. A fire lit inside me as she did. Who was this woman?
"Well you won't want my answers." She replied standing looking to escape from me.
"Wait" I said but she ignored me and began her descent down the hill.
"Hey! I don't know who you are but I know you know who I am. The least you could do is hear me out okay?" I said raising my voice, my words stopping her in her tracks. She turned around
as if she was annoyed by me. What had I done to her to get her to act this way towards me? Was it because I was a vampire? Had I hurt her in the past? Was it because I can't remember her?
"Ever since I came back through that portal, everyone has been acting sketchy. They've been hiding something and I think you have something to do with it." I explained. Her reaction was emotionless.
"I don't know what you're taking about." She replied.
"You were never a good liar." The words came out before I even realised what I had said.
"And how would you know that?" She asked curiosity. She was right, how did I know that?
"You tell me." I stated.
"Please Harry-" she said before I cut her off. We were stood so close that the tension was undeniable. Our eyes were locked together and there was nothing that could tear me away.
"How do you know me?" I asked moving the piece of hair out of her face and behind her ear. She closed her eyes deeply as my fingers lightly touched her skin, the electric connection making her take a little gasp of breath. She kept her eyes closed as she took a step back away from me.
"If you know what's good for you, which you never were able to do before, you'll listen to me when I say that some things are best left in the past and it's for the best to leave it there." She explained avoiding my eye contact. I wanted to push further. To find out who she was and why no one would tell me what I was forgetting. But I knew she wasn't going to.
"What if I can't leave it?" I asked.
"You're not going to get a choice." She said.
"You clearly don't me well enough if you think I'm going to be able to let this go." I stated. She laughed a little at my comment as she turned back to go down the hill.
"Wait." I said not wanting her to leave just yet. But she carried on ignoring me as I chose to follow her down the hill.
"Please just leave me alone." She huffed crossing her arms as she walked but I couldn't do it. I had to be near her, and deep down I knew she didn't actually want me to leave.
