I make my way through the crowd of students blurred together silently and quickly once the bell rings, signaling the end of the day.

Quite honestly, I have a very boring life and an even more boring household, so I appreciate being at school as a distraction. This has kept me at a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, even though I have certain plans to leave it in a few months.

Going through my mental agenda in my head, which consists of studying, picking up dinner for tonight, and my regular every day activities, I push my way through the doors of the school and find my way onto the sidewalk that would lead me to my home.

It's about four fifteen when I get home with dinner in hand. I put the chicken and rice into the fridge and went into my room.

The walls are white and all it has is a dresser, a bed with a grey blanket set, and a nightstand with a lamp, to provide light for me when I did my studying upon my bed.

After studying for a good two hours I warm up my rice and write my mom a note, telling her food was in the fridge. The house has been lonely ever since she started working two jobs, and I only see her a few days of the month due to her travelling.

I make my way for the bathroom and run warm water, trying to get it to the right temperature for a shower. Once I've removed my clothing, I step in and run my hands through my hair, dampening it. The warm water relaxes the tension in my shoulders, and I let out a sigh of relief.

Once I'm out, I dry my hair off with a white towel and get my outfit prepared for tomorrow. Looking out the window, I see the moon has risen against a pitch black sky. I decide to go to bed and slept peacefully through the night.

---

The next day at school, I place my books and homework over my desk in an organized manner and take a seat for Literature.

As I frantically scribble my notes down due to the teacher speaking so fast, my pen flies onto the floor between my desk and the desk beside me.

A boy with dark hair and piercing grey eyes picks it up automatically and placed it upon my desk, not making eye contact with me throughout the exchange.

He continues to concentrate and I finish up scrambling my sentences, trying to not fixate my thoughts on what had happened.

---

The school day has finally ended, and I take my time packing up. I have to stay after school to do Detention Watch, to fill in for a teacher who left sick.

I look at my watch and notice the time. I have two minutes to go down the two flights of stairs and get to the room.

I half run down the stairs and start to fall, as I trip over my own feet.

As I'm ready to plummet into the granite floor as I let out a yelp and squeeze my eyes together, I am held mid-air and feel somebody's grasp on my bicep.

After a few seconds with my eyes still closed and gravity still trying to pull me downwards, I look back and see the boy from Literature, who had gotten my pen earlier.

He is much shorter than he appeared to be earlier, and his eyes pierce into mine, although his face is almost completely expressionless.

"You're in my way, are you going to move or stand there shitless?" He asks, with one hand holding a firm but non-suffocating hold on my arm and the other running through his perfectly placed dark hair.

He releases me softly and I gain back my balance.

"Tch," he snickers, walking past me with a cold smirk.
