[[ Estelle/Reader's Point of View ]]

I outstretch my arms and look out of my window. The light outside is dim, the contrast of the dark forests in the background giving it an almost ominous view. Today's the day.

Annie's muscular Titan body comes to my mind, the way her eyes lit up each time she got closer to taking Eren. To killing us.

Today, I start strapping my 3D maneuver gear, is the day I'll make Annie Leonhardt pay.

I pull my boots on and run a free hand through my messy hair, mentally promising to avenge the soldiers that fell because of the Female Titan.

Before I pull my jacket over my shirt, I inspect my chest. The scar the Female Titan left on me is almost healed, but still easily irritated.

A knock sounds at my door and I stand up lazily, scratching the back of my head. "Who is it?" I ask as I open the door.

"Oh? You're already up, good. We have to head out soon if we plan on getting to Stohess-"

"I see." I shut the door behind me and close my eyes. "I'm ready to leave."

She cocks her head to the side and gives me a curious look. "Are you okay?"

"Yes," I begin playing with my fingers as I pull the green cape over me.

"I don't mean to pry, but," she twiddles her thumbs. "Is everything okay with Levi?"

"Ah," my eyes widen slightly and I furrow my eyebrows. I completely forgot about that situation somehow, and now that it's easily coming back to my mind, I want to forget about my own selfish, personal problems immediately. "I don't have the time to fix personal problems. I need to avenge my fallen comrades and kill the Female-Type today."

She gives me a slightly crazed look, but I mentally shove it away. Eren and Levi are the least of my concerns. My incomprehensible love life and injured chest are the least of my worries when compared to the amount of casualties a backstabbing comrade has caused.

"I'm sorry," she gives me a half-hearted smile, "but I talked to Levi last night. He's worried."

"Hanji," I warn. "I don't want to know. I can't be distracted today."

"Why are you doing this?"

What? I look her into the eyes, studying her puzzled expression. "Didn't you promise that you'd put yourself first?" She continues.

"This isn't about me," I protest. "This is about avenging the lives of those lost. Today isn't the day to fix that. Today is the day I defeat Annie." I run my fingers over the handles of the flesh-paring blades. "I will make sure their murders don't go to be in vain. That their lives weren't lost for nothing."

Her expression subtly changes from a puzzled expression to a light, understanding one. "I know what you mean. I understand." She runs a hand through her bangs, getting them out of her face. "I agree with your decision." She outstretches a hand for me, offering a sweet smile. "Now let's go, so you can finish this internal mission of yours, eh?"

A silent gasp comes out of my mouth, and I turn my head towards her. "Yes," I take her hand in mine. "Let's go."

---

"The plans," Erwin is grasping a pile of papers in his hands, even though I'm completely sure he has everything within them memorized word for word. "You," he looks over at me, "are to meet up with Mikasa and Eren. Armin is going to lure the Female-Type to you. You're under the impression you're going to assist in Eren's escape."

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"You're heading to the entrance of an abandoned underground city, but as soon as you get there, you're going to pretend to go look for Jean. Armin and Mikasa are going to stay there and try to convince her to go under, since she won't have the ability to transform into a Titan under there."
