Levi's house is spotless, every corner being clean and everything put away in a tidy fashion.

"I put your stuff in my room, so I'll go retrieve it.." He says.

It's already six, time flying by due to our little shopping trip.

"Here's your backpack.." He hands it to me and I nod.

"Where should I put it?" I ask.

"Ah, the living room is this way.. I'll get some blankets for you after I'm done making dinner."

He shows me the way and I sit in silence. I put my knees together and hold them tight between my arms on a chair in the room once he exits.

I can't believe I'm here, in Levi's house. He was always so cold, I didn't think he really cared if I had to sleep on the streets. And honestly, he had been unusually kind for him, making eye contact once or twice, grabbing my things, and now letting me sleep over in his own house.

Light sounds come from the kitchen, and I take a deep breath before I decide to go in.

"Levi?"

"What is it?" He's standing at the oven, stirring rice in with spices.

"I-I was wondering if you wanted help with dinner.. It's the least I can do, in this situation." I stammer.

"Oh. I'm almost done, but you could get some plates and silverware. Just try not to make a mess, with as clumsy as you are."

I nod and open the cabinets slightly offended, pulling out plates and setting them on the table, getting forks afterwards.

"Estelle."

I turn around quickly and almost fall at the sound of my name. Levi gives me a troubled glance. "Is it necessary for you to stumble at the sound of your own name?" His voice is annoyed.

"Sorry, I- what was it that you wanted?" I try to lighten the mood.

"Tch. What I was saying was, are you sure you want to spend the night in the other room, rather than mine?"

My face reddens intensely at the thought of that. The butterflies in my stomach flutter I can feel the burn of my cheeks intensely, and look down in attempt to hide it. "Y-yeah, I-"

He walks over to me and lifts my chin up with a finger, stopping my words mid-sentence, his face scanning mine.

Cupping my face with his palms, he makes eye contact and stares into me. "Estelle. You aren't being a burden to me, I can tell that that is what you're thinking."

Was Levi... Trying to comfort me?

I blink multiple times and smile weakly before hesitantly replying. "I feel like one, I mean, I'm sure my company isn't exactly what you want right now."

He wipes a stray hair from my forehead. "You're still blushing. Your face is the reddest it's ever been."

"L-Levi," I try. His hands are so soft against me, yet his piercing eyes looking at me as expressionless as ever. I think I've decided mentally that I like this side of Levi, even if his expression is yet unchanged.

Looking over me one last time, he releases me from his grasp and I feel my knees go weak as he turns off the stove. "Dinner's done." He says.
