A month later, things had completely changed. Annie was still encased, but the moods of everybody have been lifted, thanks to Hanji's decision of having a three day break for us on the Survey Corps. Most left to return to their families, but a lot of the 104th Regiment and my newfound friends decide to stay and enjoy their time together. That morning, I woke to Hanji screaming and spinning me around my room, or rather, the room of Levi and I, singing happy birthday and twirling me around. I forgot that it was my birthday myself; I hardly had time to memorize dates and on May 8th, I hardly saw it as special at all.
Somehow, Erwin and Hanji managed to rent a castle in Wall Rose. It was quite beautiful; made of white marble, the floors tiles shimmered under the beautiful white lights, reflecting the moonlight outside. It was gorgeous, all of it. The night was one that would be forever in my memory. It was more than I could ever dream of.
But, that doesn't stop any of us to be surprised once Auruo comes into the dining hall of our castle, with Petra on his arm.
"We have an announcement," Petra said sheepishly, her face fuming red. A few of us catch on to what's going on, and others exchanged questionable glances with each other.
"Miss Ral and I," Petra giggled slightly at Auruo calling her 'Miss. Ral', "are engaged."
All of us clapped, even though some of us looked confused.
"Did you know about this?" Levi asked.
"A little," I replied, as I began to slow my clapping. Minutes later, Petra came up to me.
"I'm sorry if I offended you," she gave me a bright grin. "This is your party and all, but since everyone was here-"
"No, no, it's fine," I waved my hands in the air. "Congratulations."
She pulled me in for a tight hug and I watched the ring on her finger glisten under the bright chandeliers, which gave me a small smile.
Releasing me, she looked back at Auruo, and offered me a small wave goodbye as she went back over to him.
"Would you look at that," Levi whispered into my ear, slowly swaying with me.
"I'd of never imagined," I replied, looking ahead.
"We could do that," he said, slowly twirling me. "Get engaged."
"What makes you say that?" I asked.
He let go of me and turned me towards him. "You don't want to?"
"It's not that," I murmured.
"Then what is it?"
"Do you really think that we have the time for something like that?"
He faced me, his face stone-cold. "Estelle, I could take you away from here."
What?
He put a hand behind my head, his fingers finding a way through my hair. "Temporarily, of course. Marry me, and I'll take your problems away."
I felt my face burn, but I just looked into his eyes, studying his expression. Was he serious?
"I promise," he said, his tiny pupils dialated.
"Okay," I nodded my head in quick agreement. "Okay. We'll do it."
And it'd been eight months later that he kept that promise.
My Mother was thrilled with the news as soon as she heard. She rented out the largest chapel she could find for the reception, and we all decorated the old Survey Corps headquarters for the wedding. Mother had insisted on marrying in Wall Rose, but Hanji and Erwin told us they would help redo the headquarters and make it fit for the ceremony.
