Chapter 11: The fair

Half past 5, I heard a knock on my door. My parents were out on a business dinner and Justin was over his friend Mike's house. So I yelled "Be right there" as I rushed down the stairs to the front door. "Hey sweetheart" Colton said giving me a quick kiss. "Ready to go?" he asked. "Yeah but I thought I was meeting you there?" "Yeah but I wanted to suprise you love." "Well glad you did." I got you something" he said. "Here you go. Just so people know you are off limits." He handed me a black hoodie that said "Colton's girl. Back off. And on the back it had Rudloff 10. "Aww thanks so much babe." He kissed me on my for head and we went to the car.

When we arrived to the fair it was pretty crowded. As soon as we got out of the car, Colton took my hand and held it tightly. We met up with Anthony and Taylor and Thomas and Ali founded us not too long after. After about 10 minutes of walking we hear "There you guys are!" It was Bre and Jacob. "Nice hood Hail. I wonder who got you that" she said sarcastically. "Thank you. You're just jealous." We all laughed and continued to walk. We went on so many crazy rides my head started to hurt. I can tell by the looks on their faces, all the girls were dizzy. "Are you guys okay?" Thomas asked seeing Ali all pale like she was going to be sick. "Yeah were fine. How about you guys go on more rides and we will catch up with you guys later" I said. "Are you sure?We could sit with you guys?" Anthony said. "Yeah were good." "Well if you need me or if something happens call me okay?" Colton said being his over protective self as usual. "Yep go have fun." "Okay love you better keep that hood on though while I'm gone." he said laughing. "Yeah yeah just go." "Bye guys" they said walking off. "Thanks for the save Hail" Ali said relieved. "No problem. I was feeling sick myself." "I WANT TO PLAY THAT GAME OVER THERE" Bre said in a excited tone. "Hailey come with me please." "Sure we will be back." "Take your time." Bre and I headed off to a game that looked pretty simple. All you had to do was shoot 3 baskets and you won any prize you wanted. Bre got one in and missed the other two. "Damn I really wanted that monkey" she said angry. "I can try. I was pretty good at hoops back home." "Okay the floor is yours." I made the first two baskets but I got really nervous for the third shot. Thank god it went in. "The monkey please." I said to the man who was in charge of the game. "Here you go girls have a nice day." "That was a nice couple of shots Marie" I heard someone with a familiar voice say. It was Eric. "Um I will go check on Ali" Bre said trying to leave as soon as possible. "Thanks I am not a big fan of sports, but I know how to make a basket from time to time." We both laughed. "I just wanted to apologize about the other day at school. I let my emotions get the best of me and I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything I said. I want you to be happy and if Colton does than I'm happy. I miss my best friend though. "Awww get over here you big goof." I hugged him and I saw the girls smile and start winking. "Here let me try and win you something. I'm not the best at sports either except football but I will try." "Okay lets see what you got." He actually made all three baskets. "Wow you have skill" I said. "Oh I know." He won me a huge brown Teddy bear. "Thank you Eric." "No problem." I hugged him again then saw Colton behind him. "Hey baby how was the rides?" I asked hoping he wouldn't make a scene in the middle of the carnival. "Oh they were great. A lot of fun" he said with a half smile on. "Hey Colton. It's been a while. How have you been man?" Eric said trying to lighten the mood. "I've been pretty good how about you?" "Great. Thanks. Well I better be going I just wanted to win Hailey this bear since she won Bre the monkey. Maybe you and I could play a game sometime." he said to me. "Sure of course." "Perfect well see you guys around. Bye" he said heading back to a group of friends he was with. "He seriously does not know how to read does he?" he asked looking at my shirt with that adorable smile of his. "Come on we are just good friends." "Good just remember you are all mine and mine only. I don't like to share." he said. "I know those rules reply to you as well mister." "I'm all yours." He kissed me and we headed back to the table. As we were walking around admiring what the fair had to offer, my phone vibrated. I let go of Colton's tight grib on my hand to get it. It said:

Hey I can't wait to see you again next week!! I'm so excited to have my old pal like I used to! Don't make any plans for next Friday because you are all mine:) You can even sleep over! Talk to you later Hailey :D

I smiled at my phone. I felt Colton lean over my shoulder and read my message. "Who's James?My competition?" he asked curiously. "No he's just like my best friend from Miami." "Oh did you guys date?" "No just good friends." "Oh well I can't wait to meet him. Did you tell him about me?" "Of course I did. He says you're a lucky guy. "I know. I'm the luckiest guy in the world." "Shut up." I said giving his a small push. "Can I be honest though?" he said with a serious look on his face. "I would prefer that actually." "I know he is one of your good friends from back in Miami , but I don't know if I'm comfortable with you sleeping over his house unless I'm there with you guys. I just don't want him to make a move on my princess. Because if he did, he would be going back home in a full body cast." "Sweetie don't you trust me at all? Nothing is going to happen.
