We found officer grimes in a room with about 3 metal tables in it. Tdog, Glenn, Maggie, and Hershel also crowding around one of them as they saw daryl and I enter. Walking closer to the table we saw the supplies that was now dumped out on it. There were a few bullet proof vests, face shields, and protective equipment that they must've found. T dog picked one up to look at it and I about threw up when walker slime dripped off it.
"Not bad." Daryl commented.
"Flashbangs, CS Triple-Chasers. Not sure how they'd work on walkers, but we'll take them." Officer grimes said.
I watched as daryl picked up a helmet and even he looked disgusted. There was walker skin everywhere inside it and I knew for a fact we I wasn't gonna be wearing that.
"I ain't wearing this shit." He spat.
"We could boil them." T dog offered looking at the pair of gloves he now had.
"Ain't enough firewood in a whole forest, no! Besides, we've made it this far without them right?" Daryl said looking over to officer grimes who nodded.
"Hershel?" Someone asked.
We all turned and saw carol was standing at the door. She motioned her head for Hershel to follow her which he gladly did.
"Everything alright?"officer grimes asked.
Carol smiled hesitantly and shook her head,"Yeah, nothing to worry about"
I watched her as she walked out after him knowing for a fact that she was lying. I looked up at daryl and squeezed his arm softly. He looked over at me and I smiled as I walked off after the two. I didn't like the nervous look in Carol's eyes and me being the nosy person that I was, it would bother me all day until I knew. I heard Hershel's voice and followed it, making my way into Lori's cell. I saw her sitting on the bed breathing heavily and looking nervous. Carol smiled when she saw me as I went to stand by her.
"It's the baby, I think I lost it." Lori said.
My eyes widened as I looked over to carol who looked sadly back to me.
"You haven't felt it move?" He asked.
"Nothing. And no Braxton-Hicks. At first, I thought it was exhaustion and malnutrition." She said causing my heart to beat nervously.
"You're anemic?" He asks as Lori nods.
Hershel sighs, "alright give me just a minute. Carol? Mind helpin me?"
She nods and they both leave the cell only leaving us two. It was silent and awkward and I almost left before she stopped me,
"Please don't go"
I sighed and sat on the bed,"it'll be ok you know"
I played with my hands nervously as she stayed quiet. Eventually she shook her head and I saw a tear slip down her face,
" If we're all infected, then so is the baby. So what if it's stillborn? What if it's dead inside me right now, what if it rips me apart?"
"Stop. Don't let your fear take control of you." I said sternly.
She looked over at me fearfully,"Okay. Let's say it lives, and I die during childbirth."
"That's not going to happen. Hershel and carol know what they are doing." I said.
"Why not? How many women died in childbirth before modern medicine? If I come back, what if I attack it? Or you, Rick, Carl... If I do, if there is any chance, you put me down immediately, you don't hesitate!" She started crying harder making me feel extremely uncomfortable.
