Ari

I woke up and rolled over huffing once I knew where Ashton was. He was at training, I mean, it is important for him to keep his health up so he can play longer.

Today I had plans to do some hunting for a job. I can't live of Ashton's money and I know being on tour will tear us apart and I don't want that. My god I don't want that.

//

"Babe?" Ashton walked in closing the door loudly.

"In here!" I yelled as I walked out of the bathroom.

I read some more hate this morning and noticed some faded scars from a few years back. I'm so happy I haven't gone back there again.

Ashton came strolling in smiling, he pulled me close and pecked my lips before heading to the bathroom.

"We're going out for dinner so get ready." He said before pulling the door closed but not completely. He never does.

I smiled and walked to my wardrobe finding my black laced dress, Ashton's favourite, and my black heels. I grabbed my curling wand and started curling my hair as Ashton walked out.

I could see him walking out in the mirror. His towel was wrapped around his waist and water droplets dripping down his chest and face.

I felt a large sting on the back of my neck and let out a loud hiss. "Fuck!"

I put the curlers on the heat proof mat as I hissed pulling my hair to the side and looking at my fresh burn.

"Shit," Ashton bite his lip walking over to me and placing his hands either side of my burn. "That's bad."

I laughed, "just a burn babe, happens all the time." I smiled. "Besides, I've done worse myself." I coughed.

I burnt myself a lot when I was about thirteen before I started cutting. It looked awful and the scars are on my thighs.

"Don't talk about it," Ashton smiled. "Shall I grab a flannel for it?" He asked.

I shook my head, "no, don't bother. Just finish getting ready and I will too."

I carried on curling my hair before getting dressed. I ran downstairs and saw Ashton stood there in black jeans and a black button shirt. I smiled as he looked me up and down.

"How am I so lucky?" He whispered grabbing my hand.

I blushed, "really? More like how lucky am I?" I laughed.

He shook his head and lead us outside locking the door and then walking to the car.

//

"God this food is delicious!" He exclaimed tacking a sip of his Fanta.

I nodded, "so," I hummed. "Heard from Jessie recently?"

He looked up at me shocked that I'd asked. "No, not recently but that's good."

"Good? How is that good?" I huffed sitting back.

"Don't think about her, not right now." He begged pulling my hand across the table. "Let's think of us and just us for today."

I smiled. "You're right."

The door opened and I saw Cassie and Luke walk in hand in hand. I laughed and then they saw us.

"Hi," Luke smiled. "Funny how we both thought to surprise our girlfriends."

I laughed and looked at Cassie, she had baggy eyes that she was trying to cover and her smile was plastered on falsely. What was the matter with her? Was it something Luke couldn't even work out or is that why they're here?

Luke and Cassie left moments later and I went all quiet trying to work out what could be wrong.

"So do you?" Ashton asked as I was snapped from my gaze.

I looked up and nodded, "yeah, yeah sure." I smiled.

"So you want me dead?" He asked smirking knowing full well I didn't listen.

I huffed, "sorry."

"What's up? You were fine earlier."

"It's Cass. Did you notice how upset she looked? I haven't seen her like that since I met her and that was when her boyfriend beat her up." I mumbled.

"Luke wouldn't do that!" He yelled.

"No I know!" I said quickly. "But whatever it is I need to know if Luke knows, because she could go down that old path that I went down. Could you find out later for me? Please?"

He thought about it before nodding, "anything to keep you happy."

I smiled and stood up walking to him and pecking his lips, "let's get outta here. Maybe bowling?"

He nodded and threw some dollar bills on the table and we left.

//

"Aren't we too over dressed for bowling?" Ashton asked as we pulled up to the bowling alley.

"It's dark in there, no one will know." I smiled before seeing a car I noticed following us before pull up a few parking spaces away.

Ashton went to get out the car as I grabbed his arm. "Wait!"

He slammed the door and looked at me, "what?!"

"That car, it was following us from the restaurant." I pointed to the black SUV parked only metres from us.

Ashton looked closely and then he stopped breathing for a few seconds. I stared at him waiting for him to talk.

"Let's get outta here." He said turning the key and speeding off.

I looked back and saw the car still close to us. "Who is it Ashton? Is it Jessie?"

He looked at me and I knew straight away it was her. "Yeah, its her alright, but she doesn't look right."

I looked in the mirror and saw her. Her hair was now static and curly and her face pale and blotchy. She was smiling as Ashton picked up speed.

"Ashton slow down or you'll kill us all!" I screamed as the dial kept going up and up.

"I can't, does she look like she'll slow down herself?" He snapped. "Look, I'll turn down a street soon losing her okay?"

I nodded not wanting to argue but I was still scared out of my mind. Last time I was in a car this fast was with Gina and she was having a episode.

"Look out!" I screeched pointing in front of me throwing my hands in front of my face.
