Song: Someone New-Hozier
"Andy, oh my god. Andy, wake up!" Elliot said frantically next to me as she shook my shoulder. I pushed him away and sat up, glaring at him.
"What the-"
"We slept in. It's noon."
"Oh, fuck." I fell back in the bed, groaning and whining. Everyone was most likely going to kill me. I usually never slept in, why was I so exhausted? Because Elliot didn't come back until two in the morning. He smelled like a brewery and I knew he was drunk. I was worried sick about him and he never called; I wasn't even sure how he got home. I didn't care, at least I was trying to convince myself that I didn't. He could have at least had the decency to call me.
I climbed out of bed and grabbed the bag my dress was in. We weren't leaving for the beauty salon Aleah rented until one, but I knew I was running late. I slipped out of my pajamas, not even caring that Elliot was still in the room. I was too frustrated with him to care. I grabbed a jacket and zipped it up and slipped into a pair of leggings. I was going to be sitting for awhile, so I wanted to dress comfortable. I was thankful that I wasn't in the wedding because I would have been in even more trouble than I was now. I brushed my teeth and rushed down the steps without saying goodbye to Elliot.
"There she is! God, Andy!" Aleah said, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her face was bare of makeup but she still looked beautiful. Her skin was flawless and her eyelashes were long. I was jealous of her natural beauty, something I believed I didn't have.
"I'm here, I'm sorry. I just...didn't sleep well last night." I said, apologizing.
"Because you were too busy getting it on with that man of yours." Lexie bluntly spoke, causing my cheeks to turn pink.
"No, shut up. Are we leaving?" I asked, looking around at everyone.
"Yes, honey. We're just waiting on Karen to grab her dress." My mother spoke, typing away on her phone. Everyone seemed on edge and I couldn't blame them. I couldn't believe the wedding was finally here, it didn't seem possible. The week went by so fast.
"Okay, I'm ready." Karen huffed, carrying her bag and shoes in her hands. I giggled at her irritated expression, I couldn't help myself.
"Bye, babe. See you later." I wasn't expecting Elliot to say anything to me today, at least not until the wedding. He surprised me by kissing me quickly, smiling down at me. My stomach turned and my heart rate quickened, but I only smiled back up at him. I wasn't sure how he managed to dissipate my anger but I didn't dwell on it too much.
Soon we were on the road towards the beauty salon Aleah had picked out. Her bridesmaids were meeting us there, and I was surprised I hadn't met them before. I assumed they were friends from college or work, I didn't have a clue. I didn't care enough to ask, which seemed awful. Karen was most definitely grouchy today so I tried to keep a safe distance away from her. When we arrived at the salon, Aleah rushed towards the doors, never waiting on us. I sighed and placed my dress in the back of the car with everyone else's before making my way to the entrance. I didn't know why Aleah insisted that I came, I was just fine doing my makeup on my own. But I wasn't going to argue with the Bridezilla.
