He winches as he presses his hand into the wound again to try and keep it from bleeding, while he gets to his feet, grabbing me by my arm.

- "We need to go," he says, as he starts towards his car in a hurry, while I stumble behind him, shocked that he can even stand up.

- "We should call an ambulance," Is all I can manage to say.

- "No, we shouldn't," he says quickly, his voice shaking slightly.

He lets go of my arm as we jump into the car, and my eyes lock on the perfect bloody hand print he has left on my arm.

It's not that I normally can't handle the sight of blood, but this amount and the fact that it's Zayn's, makes me almost sick.

- "I really should call for an ambulance," I say again, as I get a closer look at his injury and the blood running down the side of his head, but he just starts the engine and speeds up. He's bleeding a lot. "Zayn!" He definitely shouldn't be driving, but he doesn't even listen I think, he just grips the steering wheel so tight that his knuckles turn white.
"You can't drive like this,"

- "I just need some bandages to stop the bleeding, okay?" he almost hisses at me this time, so I just keep my eye on him the whole way before we pull in in front of his mother's house, and I follow behind, still in shock and awe of what even just happened back there, as he storms into the house.

Fortunately for him, neither his mum or brother is home. I know him good enough to know that he would go out of his way to try and hide it from them when he gets in trouble.

He  goes directly in the direction of the bathroom, and as I continue filling my head with stressful thoughts, Zayn has quickly pretty much unloaded one of the bathroom cabinets entirely onto the floor, stopping as he finds a box filled with band aids and gauze and little pieces of cloth.

- "I still think you should get it checked out," I say eyeing the red trail of blood that has started dripping from his face and down across his shirt. He ignores me again. "It's really bleeding a lot,"

He sits down on the lid of the toilet and takes some gauze, shaping it like a ball and he winches as he presses it into the wound, gritting his teeth.

- "Shit," he groans, his dark eyes wide and almost watery.

- "Here," I take a piece of cloth from the box, wet it in the sink and get on my knees in front of him as I try wiping some of the blood off his ear and neck.

We look into each other's eyes not saying anything for minute as I clean him off until the cloth is filled with blood, and I squeeze his knee gently as I get up again to rinse it and wet it again. He looks quite pale, and his hand holding the gauze is trembling slightly.

- "At least that seems to stop the bleeding," I say, desperate to try and make him feel better. "Does it hurt a lot?"

- "Yeah,"

I wipe the rest of the blood off his neck, but a lot of it is still in his hair. His jaw looks a bit bruised as well.

- "Time to change that," I reach to remove that ball of now deep red gauze from the wound, as I hand him a clean one.

- "Thanks," he says in a small voice, his face getting even more pale.

- "I think you need to lie down for a bit," I say, worried he's gonna pass out. I'm not used to stuff like this.

He doesn't object as I help him get on his feet again with a tight grip around his upper arm, as I lead him into the living room toward the couch where he lies down on his side, still pressing the gauze against the wound.

I decide to let him rest for a minute as I clean up the mess in bathroom, and try to put everything back where it was in the cabinet, while my brain is still trying to make some sense out of the situation.

Even though Zayn doesn't share a lot about his friends, I've always gotten the impression that Zayn and that Jason guy were always a bit on edge, but this is just extreme.

I hardly remember what he said that made Zayn go off like that, but it sounded as if he has something on Zayn that Zayn doesn't want me to hear. Also just the fact that Zayn seems to always drag me away from Jason and the rest of the group every time we see them, is kind of bothering me in way.

As much as I trust Zayn, I for sure need to ask him about it, just to try and get rid of the nagging feeling that has been growing inside of me since yesterday - but right now might just not be the time.
