Clary's POV

I smiled at Luke attempting to use his chopsticks, but looked up as Jace stood there, looking down at me. "Angel? Is he a threat?" I shook my head at Luke and he nodded.

"I figured when I ran into Izzy, I'd end up running into you, too. What do you want, Herondale?" I asked.

"Oh, now I remember him. He's the guy that we kicked out of your hospital room." I nodded to Aiden and looked up at Jace once again.

"I repeat, what do you want?"

"Why were you in the hospital?" He asked.

"Deja vu. None of your damn business."

"Why can't you just tell me?"

"It's private and none of your damn business. Fuck off, goldilocks." He laughed.

"Screw you, too." I smirked.

"You wish."

"Angel, who is this?"

"Jace Herondale, brother of the girl from Forever 21. We knew each other when we were kids, but I moved away. He recently transferred to my school and tried out for the football team. He annoys the hell outta me." They nodded.

"So, not someone we need to shoot?" Luke asked and I shook my head. "Okay." They continued to eat their food and my smile faded as a guy walked up behind him.

"Jace, we thought we lost you." He looked to me and tears filled my eyes. "Clarissa?" I sat still, my eyes never leaving his matching ones.

"Angel? Who is he?" Luke asked and I let the tears fall from my eyes.

"No one." I whispered. "He has no business here."

"Clarissa-" I cut him off.

"No, Jonathan. Leave." He shook his head.

"I'm not going anywhere." I nodded and turned to Luke.

"Take me home." The boys stood up and I did the same. The four of them surrounded me as we walked away, a sign of protection with them surrounding me.

"Clarissa, just stay and talk to me. Please, I'm begging you." I shook my head at him.

"No. Leave me be." We made it out the doors and I got in the SUV with Luke. Aiden and Caleb following us on their motorcycles.

"Angel, who was that?" Luke asked, but I just continued to cry into my knees as I pulled them up to my chest. "Clary." I ignored him and we pulled up outside the house, so I got out and ran inside and up to my room, cuddling into my blankets as I cried into my pillow now instead.

"Clary?" My door opened and I shook my head.

"Go away, Ryder."

"Ouch. It must be bad if you call me by my full name. Angel, who is this Jonathan guy? Did he hurt you?" I shook my head and he got into bed behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"No. I don't even remember him, I was too young. I was a baby." I cried.

"Your dad? The one that left you?"

"No. My older brother, Jonathan. Whom I've never met, but he somehow recognized me. How? The only reason I knew it was him, was because I used to have a picture of my dad hidden in my room until I was thirteen, but Jocelyn found it and burned it. He's the splitting image of my dad. Whom I've never met either."

"I'm sorry, angel. You didn't want to talk to him?" I shook my head.

"I'm not ready. Within the past few weeks, I was raped, put in a coma, woke up from a coma, found out that Jocelyn is in jail but Sebastian isn't and I had a run-in with my brother. I'm stressed. And, I don't want to be. I just can't stand the fact that Jon's gonna go back to my dad and tell him about me. Then, dad finds me and I have to explain to him that my whole life has nothing but pain. They'll never understand. They won't accept the way I am." He turned me to him and made me look up at him.
