Clary's POV

Two months later, I am immensely enjoying motherhood and I now own the art gallery I worked at.

The owners were planning to sell it and I was going to lose my job, along with everyone else, so I bought it and I've left it in the hands of my best employee, Allison, the manager.

I go back to work next week. "Okay, we're going on a walk." I said to dad as I walked down the stairs with Lily asleep in my arms.

"Let me get the stroller for you." He walked to closet and got the stroller out. It's one that has the frame, but you strap the carseat carrier to it and it magically becomes a stroller.

I bundled my baby up and myself before buckling her into the stroller

I bundled my baby up and myself before buckling her into the stroller. "We shouldn't be long, daddy."

"Take your time, baby. I'll be here when you get back."

"Okay."

I put the diaper bag in the bottom and walked out before getting in the elevator.

She stayed asleep the entire time and we made our way into central park, one of my favorite places in New York.

Thirty minutes of walking and I had to sit down on a bench. I am so out of shape.

I held onto Lily's stroller and closed my eyes. God, I am so tired. She screams at all hours of the fucking night.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I love being a mom, but somethimes it just sucks.

"You look exhausted." I looked up at the very handsome man towering over me with two coffees in his hands.

"I am." Lily started fussing, so I pushed the stroller back and forth while still sitting in my spot.

"Well, seeing as how my friend bailed on me, I shall offer you his coffee. Black, nothing in it." He offered it to me and I happily took it.

"Thanks."

"So, you're an exhausted new mom?" He asked as he sat down beside me.

"Definitely. You are?"

"Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Blake Matthews. And, you are?"

"Clary Morgenstern."

"And, who is this beauty?" He peeked into the stroller and I smiled down at my daughter.

"That is Lily, she's two months old."

"No dad?" I shook my head.

"He's out of the picture."

"Well, I hope you don't think that this is too forward, but would you maybe want to go for drinks sometime?"

"Maybe in six months. I'm not twenty-one yet."

"Dinner then?"

"Can I think about it?"

"Sure. Exchange numbers?" I nodded and handed him my phone while he gave me his. I put my number in his phone and we swapped our phones back. "Have a nice day, Clary."

"You too, Blake." He stood and flashed me his smile one more time before walking away. I took a sip of the coffee and smiled. That's Taki's coffee.

I stood up and grabbed ahold of the stroller, heading back to the apartment. Well, penthouse.

Even when I walked in my front door, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

"Your walk go okay?" I unbuckled Lily from her seat and cradled her in my arms.

"Yeah, it went fine." I gave her her pacifier and she immediately started sucking on it.

"What's up with that smile? Something happen?" He stood from the couch and took his grandbaby from me.

"Uh, yeah. I got asked out on a date." His eyebrows raised as he stared down at me in shock.

"What? Who? Where?"

"I took a break and sat down on a bench and he said that I looked exhausted. We chatted for a little while and he asked me out, but he said that I could think about it and we exchanged numbers."

"Are you going to go out with him?"

"I don't know. I mean, isn't it pretty soon to start dating after Jace left?" We sat down on the couch.

"Baby, it is not too soon to start dating. But, if you feel that you're not ready, don't do it."

"He seemed really nice. It wouldn't hurt to go out on one date, right?"

"It wouldn't hurt a thing, princess."

"I'm gonna call him." He nodded and looked back to the football game while I walked to the kitchen and started on the pile of dishes in the sink, the phone being held up to my ear by my shoulder.

"Clary, I assume you thought about it?"

"I did and I would love to go to dinner with you."

"Great! How about this Friday night? I have to work tomorrow." Saturday. Shit.

"That should be fine. Where at?"

"That is a surprise. Text me your address and I'll pick you up at six?"

"I can do that. I'll see you Friday."

"See you Friday." I hung up the phone and dialed in another number.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Iz, where are you?"

"Walking inside your house." The front door opened and closed before she joined me in the kitchen. "Why were you calling?" She asked as she hopped up on the countertop.

"I have something to tell you, because I need your help. And, Magnus'."

"For what?"

"I, um, I have a date this Friday night." She choked on her water and squealed.

"OMG! With who?"

"This guy, Blake. We met a little while ago in central park and he asked me out, so I have a date in two days."

"Okay, we are having a preparation day tomorrow. We're getting our nails done, we're going shopping and then you're going to tell us all about him."

"Okay." I knew not to argue with Izzy.

I took Lily from dad and walked upstairs, changing her into her soft footie pajamas before laying her down in her crib.

My sweet baby girl.

I was so excited about going on this date with Blake. I mean, I don't think I'm quite over Jace yet, but he left me, he's not coming back.

At least, I hope he doesn't.

I have the right to start dating again. But, at the same time, I'm extremely nervous, because I was never really in the dating world.

Not since I was with Reid.

I wish this whole dating thing was easier.

But, dating is never easy......
