Clary's POV

I sat down on the floor and sobbed loudly. I plucked my phone out of my pocket and dialed the number with blurry eyes.

"Hello?" She answered.

"M-Maryse-" I sobbed.

"Sweetie? What happened? Are you and the baby okay?"

"Could you come over? Please?"

"I'll be there in thirty minutes." I hung up on her and stood, rushing to the bathroom and puking into the toilet.

I sat there and cried for what felt like forever.

"Clary?! Where are you?!" Maryse yelled and her heels clacking against the floor were advancing towards the bathroom. "Oh, sweetie, what's wrong?" She sat on her knees in front of me and held my hand.

"Blake." I closed my eyes.

"What about him? Is he okay?"

"In jail."

"He's in jail? For what?"

"Money laundering and solicitation of prostitution." I sobbed. "Maryse, what am I going to do? I'm having his baby. My daughter calls him 'daddy'. Oh god, how do I explain this to Lily? Maryse-"

"No, no, no, sweetie. Shh. It'll be okay, we'll figure all of that out later. Right now, you need to calm down and take a deep breath."

"I-"

"It's for the baby." I sighed. "Stress is bad for the baby, you have to think about that." I nodded and took deep breaths until I was breathing normally again. "Good. Now, come with me and we'll figure all of this out."

Jon's POV

"So, where'd you grow up?" I asked Jasmine as we sat at Taki's on our first date.

"Born and raised in New York. In the projects."

"Yeah?" She nodded. "My sister lived there when she was little."

"How's that? She didn't live with you and your dad?" I laughed lightly.

"That is a very long story for another time." She nodded with a smile.

She looked so beautiful. Her blonde hair, blue eyes, legs that go on for days.

"You seem to have a strong connection with your sister."

"Definitely. Her and Lily are my world. I'd do anything for them." She smiled wider. "What?" I chuckled.

"I love that you're so protective of them. You're very involved."

"If you knew everything that's happened if her life, you'd understand why. But, that's another story for another time."

"Complicated?" I nodded. "I get it. You need to know me better before you spill secrets to me."

"You do get it." I joked and she laughed lightly.

"I'm having a great time." She said and I smiled right back at her.

"So am I." My phone started ringing and I sighed. Seeing that it was Maryse, I looked up at Jasmine.

"Go ahead, answer it."

"Thank you." I answered and put the phone to my ear. "Maryse? Everything okay?"

"Not one bit." My brows furrowed in confusion. "I'm at Clary's. She called me crying and asked me to come over and when I got there, she was in the bathroom, crying her eyes out."

"Why? Is the baby okay?"

"Yes, the baby is fine." I let out a breath of relief. "Jon, Blake was arrested."

"For what?"

"Money laundering and solicitation of prostitution."

"Oh my god. Is Clary still crying?"

"No, she cried herself to sleep half an hour ago and I talked to your dad, but Clary wanted him to stay home with Lily, so he's not coming."

"I'll be there soon. Maybe twenty minutes."

"Okay. Bye, Jon."

"Bye, Maryse." I hung up and looked guiltily to Jasmine. "I have to go, I am so sorry."

"What happened? Is your sister alright?"

"She is nowhere near alright. Her fiancé just got arrested for sleeping with a prostitute and laundering money. My dad is at his place with Lily, so I have to go check on Clary."

"Wow. Well, we'll reschedule then. Call me tomorrow?" I smiled and nodded.

"Call you tomorrow." I confirmed and paid for our meals. Turning for the door, I stopped in my tracks as he walked in. "What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked harshly and he looked to me.

"I was planning to get food."

"No, I mean, what are you doing back in New York?"

"I wanted to come home, be with my family. And, Clary and the baby. I want them back so badly and I will work my ass off until I succeed." I scoffed.

"You have no fucking right to my sister or my neice, not anymore. Not after you left my baby sister while she was having a fucking C-section and an appendectomy all at once. And, you weren't even man enough to say goodbye to her before you left."

"Biggest mistake of my life."

"Of course it is, 'cause no one would ever leave my baby sister and be happy about it." I threw a punch and hit him once in the jaw and once in the eye. "If you ever come near my sister or my neice, you'll get much worse that that." He wiped the blood from his lip and I walked out, heading for Clary's place in a cab.

When I got there, Clary was laid in her bed, her back facing me. "I'll be in the living room for a while if you need me." Maryse whispered.

"Thanks for taking care of her." She nodded.

"She needed me, I came." She left the room and I sighed, taking off my shoes and jacket before slipping into bed behind her.

"Jonny?" I smiled and kissed her head.

"Hey, baby. How you doing?"

"Shitty."

"I know. The baby okay?" She nodded.

"I hate him. I hate him so much." She sniffled.

"I know you do, baby. So do I." I wrapped my arm around her and laid my hand on her belly. "Go back to sleep, you need to rest." I rubbed her belly and she sighed.

"Thank you. I love you."

"Love you more, Clarebear." I kissed her head once again and smiled slightly as she fell asleep in my arms.

My poor baby sister. She doesn't deserve this. She has one child already who just lost her dad and another baby in the oven that won't get to meet their father unless they visit him in jail.

She deserves more than all of this.

I love my sister more than anything.

I have to find a way to give her a break for a while.

She needs it.

"Goodnight, babe." I fell asleep with her hand resting on mine.
