Clary's POV

I laid on the examination table and pulled my shirt up, staring at the ceiling as my doctor rubbed the gel on my belly.

"So, where's Blake? He's always here for your appointments." I sighed.

"He won't be coming to any more. He, um, he's not involved anymore." She nodded, not wanting to pry, and moved the wand around my belly.

"Ah, there it is." She pointed to my baby on the screen and the heartbeat echoed through the room. "Looks like your baby is growing very well, no problems that I can see." She smiled at me. "Do you want to know the gender?" I nodded and she moved the wand around a little more. "You are having a little baby girl." I smiled brightly and she took the wand off.

"Thank you, Patricia." She nodded.

"Give me five minutes and I'll have your pictures." I took the towel from her and wiped the gel off and pushed my shirts back down.

I waited the few minutes, scheduled my next appointment, got my pictures and left, heading for Taki's.

I knew that I would be late because of the traffic, but I didn't care. He could wait for me for once.

When I finally got there, twenty minutes late, I parked and walked in the doors, seeing Jace sitting in our old corner booth, staring at his coffee as he swished it around the mug.

I walked to the table and sat down across from him, making him look up at me. "I didn't think you'd come."

"Well, I'm here, so what do you want?"

"I want my family back." I shook my head. "I get that it's going to take a lot of making up to do, but I will do anything, anything just to get you two back. I want to know my daughter."

"You have no rights to her." He looked down at his coffee.

"What will it take, Clary? What will it take for you to just let me see her?"

"I'll think about it, okay?" He wiped at his red eyes and nodded.

"How was your appointment? I assume, it was an ultrasound?" I nodded and pulled the picture out of my bag.

"The baby." I handed it to him and he smiled down at it.

"How far along are you?"

"Sixteen weeks tomorrow. Second trimester." He handed it back to me, so I put it away.

"Did you ask for the gender?" I smiled. "Of course, you did, you have to know the sex before it comes, so that you can have everything ready."

"It's another girl." He sipped his coffee and I glared at him. "Do you have to drink coffee in front of me?" He chuckled and placed it on Kaelie's tray while she glared at him, walking past us.

"Sorry."

"Yeah. Well, I should go. I need to clean up the house before she comes home tomorrow."

He quickly stood and offered me his hand, so I took it and let him help me up. "What did you name her?"

"Lily. Lily Grace Morgenstern." He nodded and paid for the coffee before walking me to my car.

"Let me know your decision about seeing her, please?" I nodded and got in my car, driving away from him.

Later in the night as I laid in my bed, I decided to call Maryse, so I dialed the number and put the phone to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey, can we talk for a minute?" I asked.

"Sure. What about?"

"Jace. Do you think he's really planning to stick around? Because, if he's not, I will not, under any circumstances, let him into my daughter's life. I need to know if it's real."

"After the many talks I've had with him since he's come home, I sincerely believe that he's here for you two. He wants you back so badly and I know that he's hurting, because of what he did to you. But, in the end, it's your decision on whether you want him to meet her."

"Thanks, Maryse. I appreciate it."

"Of course. Goodnight, Clary."

"Goodnight, Maryse." I hung up and turned out the lights.

What am I going to do?

Shit.

"Mama!" I smiled and picked her up, letting her rest on my hip.

"Hi, pretty princess." I gestured to her pink tutu. "Go play, sweetheart." I set her down and she ran over to her toybox, getting out her barbies.

"Morning, biscuit." I let Mags kiss my cheek. "So, what's on the agenda for today?" I sighed and sat on the couch, which made him do the same.

"I think I'm gonna tell Lily about Jace."

"Whoa. That's a pretty big deal." I nodded. "Do you want me to stay and help you?"

"No, I think that this is something I need to do on my own. But, thank you for offering."

"Of course, biscuit. Call me if you need anything."

"I will. And, thank you for keeping her last night. It really gave me a little break." I walked him to the door.

"No problem. You know that I love hanging out with my baby biscuit."

"Lily, come say bye to Uncle Mags." She squealed and ran to Magnus, letting him pick her up and kiss her all over her face, making her giggle and scream in happiness.

"Bye-Bye, LilyPad."

"Bye-Bye, Maggie!" She kissed his cheek and ran back to her barbies.

He kissed my cheek and walked out, leaving me alone with my daughter.

"Lily, come here. I need to talk to you about something." I sat on the couch ans she came to sit on my lap.

"Wha, mama?"

"Sweetie, your daddy isn't really your daddy." She cocked her head to the side, obviously confused.

"Huh?"

"Your real daddy's name is Jace and he lives at mamaw's. Do you want to meet him?"

"Yes pwease." I kissed her head. "I go pway now?"

"Yes, baby, you can go play." I set her back down and she went back to her barbies.

Picking up my phone, I dialed in the number and put it to my ear. "Hey, Clare."

"Do you still want to meet her?"

"Y-Yes, of course."

"Meet us at the playground down the street from my house in an hour."

"I'll be there."

"So help me god, Jace, if you leave again and hurt my daughter-"

"I won't. I promise." I sighed.

"See you in an hour." I hung up and packed up a little bag of toys and snacks and a sippy cup with extra apple juice in a bigger cup if she runs out.

"Wanna go to the park, baby?" She grabbed onto my hand and we walked out of the house.

This is it. This is when my daughter meets her father.

Holy shit.
