Clary's POV

The next day, Jon stayed with me and helped me with Lily. Dad said that he'd come join us after work, but I didn't really do much.

I sat on the couch, playing games with Lily and watching tv with her and Jon. It was really just a lazy day for us.

"Babe, you alright?" I nodded to Jon and took a sip of my drink.

"I'm okay." I said, smiling at Lily as she climbed into my lap.

"Are you just saying that because a certain two year old is here?" I nodded and faced the tv with my baby girl. "I'm sorry, baby." I nodded.

"Not your fault."

"Mama, where daddy?" Lily looked up at me and I put on a brave face, holding her to me.

"Daddy had to leave, sweetheart."

"Why? When he come home?"

"Daddy's not coming home. He had to leave forever." Her eyes filled with tears and they fell down her cheeks like a damn river.

She put her legs on either side of me and cried into my chest. I rubbed her back to comfort her and Jon handed me her blankie, so I wrapped it around her and rubbed her back over the blanket.

"It'll be okay, baby girl. I promise." My own tears began to fall and Jon scootched over to my left side, wrapping an arm around me and kissing my head.

After she cried herself to sleep, Jon took her from me and went to put her to bed. I sat on the couch, crying my eyes out.

"It's okay, baby." Jon sat beside me and we laid down on our right sides, him behind me as his arm stayed around my head.

"I hate him. But, I love him, too." He nodded and kissed the side of my head, rubbing circles onto my belly.

"I know. I know, babe. It's going to be fine, you know that. It just takes time."

"I don't want it to take time. I'm tired of things being great and then turning shitty. I don't want it anymore. I just want to be happy and for it to stay that way. Why can't I just be happy?" I sobbed and he sighed.

"I don't know, Clarebear. Calm down. Stress isn't good."

"I know." I cried and he held me, comforted me until I fell asleep.

Jon's POV

After she cried herself to sleep, I grabbed my phone and dialed in Simon's number. I knew that Clary would wake up in a few hours, due to the baby kicking.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Call in the reinforcements. She needs us with her. Time to cheer her up a little."

"Alright. We'll be there by midnight. I'll call the group."

"Thanks. Door's unlocked."

"See you in a few hours." He hung up the phone and I dialed in the next number.

"Are we rescheduling?" She answered.

"Maybe. Do you have plans in the morning?"

"I do not. Why?"

"This is a weird thing to ask, but would you maybe want to come by my sister's place around midnight? I called our friends over to come and help cheer her up, but I also wanted you here. It's okay if you don't want to, though."

"I'll be there. Want me to bring me anything?"

"Tub of ice cream?"

"Flavor?"

"Vanilla. Thank you. I'll see you at midnight."

"See you at midnight." I loved that I could hear her smile through the phone.

Time had passed by quick, just watching tv and cuddling with my baby sister.

Not long after, Simon, Alec, Izzy and Magnus walked through the front door, sitting around us on the other furniture.

"So, he was arrested?" I nodded to Simon. "Damn."

"Can we please just not talk about it?" Clare mumbled and I rubbed circles into her belly once again.

"Sure, Clare." He answered.

"We brought Taki's for you." Izzy set the bags on the table and Simon set down the down the drinks.

"Thanks." They nodded and a knock sounded on the door, making me smile. "Who's that? Everyone's already here."

"Not everyone." I stood and rushed to the door, opening it and seeing Jasmine. "Hey. Thanks for coming." She smiled back at me.

"Anytime." I took the tub of ice cream from her and led her into the kitchen. "So, how's she doing?" I put the ice cream in the freezer.

"Not great. But, badgering you with questions will probably take her mind off of it." She laughed.

"That's fine. You think she'll remember who I am?"

"I honestly have no clue, but I guess we're about to see." I offered her my hand and she smiled, taking it and letting me lead her to the living room.

We sat down at the end of the couch where they all stared between the two of us. "Jon, who's this?" Clare asked, propping her head up on the armrest.

"This is Jasmine, she was your nurse when you had Lily."

"Ohh, I remember you now. Wait, are you guys like dating now?" Clare asked.

"Maybe. In the beginning of it, at least." Jas answered and Clary smiled.

"Thank god. This one needs a girlfriend." She pointed to me. "So, how did you guys get into this?" She gestured between the two of us.

"We ran into each other at Starbucks and he asked me out, so I said, 'yes' and we were on our first date last night." Clare nodded.

"Lily alert." Clare sighed. "Three, two, one." The sound of a door closing upstairs made us all look to the stairs.

"I don't know how you do that." Simon laughed and she shrugged.

"Mom senses, it's weird, but very useful." Lily slowly walked down the steps, holding onto the railing with one hand, as the other held her blankie.

"Mama." She whined and Clary lifted her onto the couch, letting her lay her head on her arm.

"What's wrong, baby?" Clary pushed Lily's hair behind her ear.

"I miss daddy." She sniffled and moved closer to her mom.

"I know you do, baby, but it's gonna be okay. We don't need him." Lily nodded.

"Can we go Mamaw's morrow?"

"I'll see if Maryse is busy, but if she's not, yes, we can go." She smiled, but it turned into a yawn as she cuddled into Clare.

"Come here, Lily-Bug." Magnus stood and picked Lily up off of the couch. "How about I read you a bedtime story?" She nodded and hid her face in his neck.

She'll grow up without her dad. Or, who she thinks is her dad.

I hate that she's so sad.

Both of them.

They don't deserve it at all.

(Omg, I made it to chapter thirty! I've never gotten this far in any of my stories! Thank you for sticking through it with me and I hope you enjoy! Have fun!)
