~Daisy's P.O.V~
I ran up to the gate, my boots splashing in each puddle, sending water to patch my already soaking black tights. I pulled my red raincoat over my head, swinging the gate open with a speed. The trees blew around me, creaking and groaning like they always do when I leave school. My hair was soaked and it dripped down the back off my black jumper. I shivered and ran up the forest path. I felt the same feeling of being watched by the creatures in the forest. And it only made me run faster. The growls and groans grew louder, and I saw the smoke from my cottage rise into the air. I stepped over a twig, and it made me jump. The distant roar of thunder made me clasp my hands over my ears. I was scared, I knew the creatures and monsters would get me if I didn't get home soon. I pushed open my home's front gate and ran in, standing under the porch, back against the wall, staring into the forest where the creatures live. I know they are there. I swear on my life that I see that same blank white face. Nobody believes me. I walked inside my old cottage, pulling off my little red raincoat and shaking my hair around, twirling so my skirt would drip off a bit.
"I'm home!!" I shouted, though I knew nobody would awnser. I just asked it for the ghosts and creatures. I put down my bag and kicked off my boots, waiting for some creature to awnser. I walked into the kitchen, the floorboards creaking as normal, and grabbed the hot chocolate that Is always left on the counter, newly made, still warm. I never questioned it, after all, it's free hot chocolate.
I didn't have alot of service in my cottage, but it was enough for some creepy-ass-sounding background sounds in a phone call. So, of course, somebody phoned me.
"Hello?" I asked, though I knew who it was.
"Hey Daisy." That voice that I could listen to all day.
"Oh, Lewis, how are you?" I was grinning like an idiot, forcing myself not to stutter.
"I'm fine, hows about you?" His voice had that flirty tone that made me smile even more
"Terrified." I replied, giggling, taking a sip from my drink.
"Like always, love." Unfortuantely, he didn't call just me 'love'.
"So, why you phoning?" I asked, lying down on my sofa.
"There's something I-" And then the phone just turned into static.
"Uh, sorry, lewy, but your breaking up, I'll talk to you later." I sighed, hanging up the phone before the static turned me deaf. Yeah, sure, I had a crush on him, but like I said. We both didn't want a partner. It was too much heartbreak. That night I lay in my bed, drawing the normal bloody bunnies that were a result of the anxiety that came from the forest. Most of the time my parents were at work, leaving me alone. It was nice, actually. I could phone lewis- and um... any of my friends whenever I wanted to. I looked down at my phone to see a few texts. I swiped open my phone and clicked onto the messaging app. They were all from Lewis.
'There's something I want to say'
'Sorry about your phone'
'Umm....'
'How do I say this?'
'I'm sorry, forget it, it's just something stupid on my mind.'
I smiled, I knew what he meant.
