~Daisy's P.O.V~
I sighed to myself. I'm never in a bad mood. Never in this bad of a bad mood. I'm usually in a melancoly mood, but today, I just felt like hugging Ben and never letting go. I wanted him to tell me that it'll all be alright. The bully's and everything don't usually get to me, but this was different.
I was walking down the hallway on my own, Ben wasn't at school yesterday, and I saw Lewis. Ah, he looked amazing, with his light brown hair swept to the side, leaning again the wall. His light blue eyes sparkled in their own little glow. He saw me and I said hi, smiling, and walking up to him. His friends where there. Liam, Megan. He shouted out, to me, in a voice that I've never heard before.
'Fuck off and go back to hell.'
I was so startled. He's never ever been mean to me, not since the day I met him, not ever. We never had arguments. He was always so kind. I just replied by happily saying 'Yeah, that'll be easy for me, being satan spawn and everything. Hope you have a great day.' Then I walked away. And I heard laughing. They were... Laughing at me. They were laughing at me?! I heard liam say 'Oh, what an absolute idiot.'
I spent the rest of the day trying not to cry.I ran through the crowds of people, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. I looked up and into the libary, to see Ben in the corner, leaning against the wall. I made eye contact with him straight away. I ran over and wrapped my arms around him. I heard him gasp but he soon hugged me back. I could tell we were both blushing messes, but I didn't care. I silently sobbed into his shoulder, not wanting to ever let go. Eventually, though, I pulled away and wiped my teary eyes.
"What's wrong?" He asked, sitting down and tugging my hand, beckoning me to sit down next to him.
"L-Lewis s-said," I said through sobbing breaths, not holding any tears back. "F-Fuck off and go b-back to hell. He said that to me! H-he's never been m-mean b-before!" I turned to Ben and he was scowling, not at me.
"You don't deserve him, Daisy. He doesn't deserve you. He doesn't know how much of a great friend you are, how much of a great girlfriend you could be." Ben gave me a sweet smile and I smiled back. In that moment, I got butterflies. They were the kind of butterflies Lewis gave me when he would flirt.
"Thank you, Ben." We were both red, pink, and all kind of colours of blush. I was boiling despite the no-heating libary.
"Your welcome."
We spent some of the time drawing and reading, sitting slightly closer to each other than normal. Until, of course, someone had to interfere.
"Oh, how's the school's cutest satan spawn couple doing?" I looked up from my notebook to see bitchy Lewis looking down at me like I was some peasant.
"One, we're not a couple. Two, satan spawn is better than being an insensitive dick bag." I turned to Ben to see him still drawing, just quietly murmering, unemotional.
"Actually, being a dick bag means that you can actually get girls. Unlike you." I gasped at what Lewis did next. He kicked Ben right in the shin, then in the stomach. "You can't even get a low-class demon like Daisy." He said in a teasing tone. I had to do something, I couldn't just watch as my true best friend was being beaten up.
"Lewis Lalonde Thawn!" I stood up, raising my voice. "You dare lay another finger on Ben and- and..." I didn't have a quick comeback. We had a few people staring at us now, a few people chanting 'fight'. Lewis turned to me and stopped beating up Ben.
"And what, love?" He said in the teasing tone that he knew would get to me. I let the blush creep on my face, but that didn't stop me being mad.
"And it doesn't matter, just stop, okay?! You think your so cool for beating up this poor, innocent kid. What has he ever done to you?!" Hot tears were now falling down my face. Lewis did something unexpected. He grabbed my chin and his face was a few centimeteres from mine.
"He stole you away from me." He said quietly, in a flirty yet serious tone. He let go and walked away, out of the libary, leaving me shocked confused and all around flushed. I looked down to see Ben curled up in a ball, sobbing. I knelt down next to him and he looked up at me. He had a bleeding nose, but he still gave me a sweet smile.
"I'll be okay."
