~Daisy's P.O.V~
I trudged down my stairs in my pajamas, just a vest and some shorts. I yawned about a dozen times, my eyes still droopy and heavy from sleep. I rubbed them and looked around the landing. In front of me was the front door, to the left the living room, and to the right, the kitchen... I walked into the kitchen, bashing my shin on the doorway in the process. I looked to the counter, where the hot chocolate made for me is every day after school. And instead of where it would be, was a little grey girl. Instead of her normal grey dress, she wore a baggy dark grey jumper and light grey jeans. She looked kinda sweet, but it didn't suit her. I smiled and she nodded at me, taking a sip of... tea? hot chocolate? coffe? yeah it smelled like coffee. I made myself a hot chocolate and sat down at the kitchen table.
"Haven't seen you in a while." I murmured, stirring the coca into my drink. My eyes trailed to the portable raidio on the table, and then to static. But she just looked away and didn't reply. "Okay then. Mind telling me what that creature is?" Static's eye sockets widened and from the raidio I heard a short gasp. Her grip on the coffee mug tightened and her hands began to shake. I groaned. "Okay then, don't talk to me." Static let out a glitchy sigh, then turned to me, her black, deep eye sockets seemed to stare right through me.
"Plea̴se do̧n't͝ ͜m̶áke̵ m͜e ͘t̕aļk̛ ab́o̕u͠t ̧i͡t̷ ." Her strange voice came out of the raidio and I passed her a sympathetic look. Why? What happened? I had so much questions but... I couldn't pressure her. After a moment of awkward silence, Static spoke. " So, whàt̀'̨s g͜oiǹg҉ ͜on̸ be͘tẁe̸e͏n y͘ou a͟nd҉ ͠B͏e͘n?͜" I rolled my eyes.
"Nothing." Static giggled. I rolled my eyes again. Honestly... I gasped. There was a massive bang coming from outside my house. I looked to the window, and when I looked back at Static, she was gone. My heart raced as I heard a creak and the ground beneath me seemed to rumble. I got up from my seet quickly and dashed over to the window, trying to get a good view of what was going on. On the forest path, I saw a white blur, and the creaking noise grew louder. I heard the rustle of branches like there was a storm outside, but there was not even a breeze. My breath hitched in my throat as I noticed the big oak next to my path gate slowly tilting down. As my heart got faster, my surroundings got slower. The ground rumbled more. And then I saw him. A fleck of blonde and green amongst the fog, and a slowly falling tree a few metres ahead of him. I'm so stupid... I forgot... Ben was coming round my house, again. I dashed to my front door, almost falling over, as quick as I could, flinging the door open. Ben was frozen there, behind my gate, watching the tree fall. I screamed and screamed for him to move, but he just looked from me to the tree. A light grey blur made it's way behind Ben, and it's drooping jaw seemed to form some sort of grin. In that moment, before I could render what was going on,I was sent back by a massive CRASH and the sound of branches and leeves hitting the ground echoed in my ears and I was stunned by shock. A small dust cloud made it's way from the tree to the doorway and I had to cough and rub my eyes to try and see through it. But to no luck. Through natural fog and dust fog, I looked for anyone. Anything. I coughed a few times more, and the dust settled down and everythning stilled. No noise. Silence. Nothing sped up or slowed down. It would've been peacful if I wasn't so anxious. I called out Ben's name, but there was no response. No movement. My heart began to race again and I more frantically called out his name. Still no response.
"Ben! Please!" I repeated over and over, looking everywhere. I climed over the fallen tree, scraping my knee in the process, thinking he would be lying here and motionless from shock. But he wasn't. I looked along the path. He wasn't there either. I called out his name a few more times before I slunk down in defeat. He was gone.
