Christmas day

"Daisy! Hey, Daisy! Wake up!" I groaned as someone shook me awake. I looked around to see... Not june... Not Lewis... But.... A girl. It was fuzzy in the darkness, but I could see her long blonde hair, her mouth was covered by a black mask.
"WH-"
"Sh!" The girl covered my mouth and I nodded, strangly trusting this stranger. "Your Ben's friend, correct?" Her voice was no more than a muffled whisper. I nodded, scared to talk. "You want to find him, correct?" I nodded frantically. "Then come with me, before it's too late." She pulled me out of my bed, waking up Lewis and telling him about it too. Lewis was less trustworthy, Ben and him weren't exactly... friendly... Eventually we all tiptoed out of the room. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my butterflies returning. Purple for fear and a bright yellow for excitement. Lovely. We crept down the stairs. I could see the girl more clearly now. She had stunning blue eyes, focused and concentrated. She seemed around 15. She held my hand as we walked to the basement door.
"Be very quiet, please." She murmured, turning the door knob slowly, as to not make any noise. She pushed the door open. I held my breathe, but it didn't creak. Thank goodness. Me and Lewis looked at each other, then at the dark abyss of the basement... I felt butterflies fluttering all around my stomach with no rest. Down there... Down there was Ben... Unless this girl was tricking us. But I was too excited to focus on that flying thought. Once at the bottom, the girl turned to us.
"I'm going to turn on the lights. And when I do, run. Run until I tell you to stop, or when you hear a boy screaming your name." The girl seemed to smile beneath her mask. "Ready?" She placed her hand on the light switch. Me and Lewis nodded. Flick. Ahead of me was a hallway, a hallway filled with sections. The room was plated in metal and clear white brick. It was pretty large. In one of the sections was a shelf, filled with viles of black or white liquid. Some of it was spilt on the floor, which we totally avoided when we were running. Adreniline pumped through my veins, making me run faster than everyone else. I ran and ran until we came to a section bordered by metal bars.
"DAISY DAISY HOLY SHIT!"
"Keeeepp it quiet love." The girl said. Ben didn't listen. I didn't respond. I just fell to my knees and cried. Lewis patted my back awkwardly. The girl fidled around with a bunch of keys, sticking one into the lock on the door and twisting it. She stopped for a second.
"Daisy..."
"Y-Yeah??"
"Please don't scream." She smiled and opened the door. I tried not to scream, sprinted into it and stumbled to the floor next to Ben. I wrapped my arms around him and held him tightly. We sat there, just hugging. Until he pulled away.
"Jesus three weeks. Three weeks may've been too late." He smiled. A sweet, but sad sort of smile. I gasped, feeling tears well up in my eyes as I noticed black veiny lines spreading from a wound on his wrist, up his arm and onto his cheek. Pouring from the wound was pitch black blood.
"B-Ben..." I saw the bright, hopeful look in his eyes fade. As he fell to the floor. "Ben." I shook him. "Ben!" Lewis joined me, trying to get him to wake up. "BEN!" The girl pushed me and Lewis away. I frantically struggled against her, tears streaming down my face. She pushed me against the bars and shouted 'Stop'. I stopped struggling and sat there, traumatized, as I saw pull out a water bottle from her black rucksack. She opened it and poured it over the wound. Nothing happened for a while. I began to loose all hope. I stopped crying. I stared. Just stared. At my best friends lifeless body. I started thinking of all the things we could've done together. Gone to the beach, grew up together, got a house together, brought a little kitten together. I thought of all the things we could've been. I felt all emotion recede. I felt grey. My vision began to blur, I was on the brink of passing out.
The black veins began to recede.
The girl poured more water onto the wound.
I saw bright blue eyes, flickering open. I saw colour return to them.
No emotions. I felt no emotions. Just trauma.
Then I felt all colour and hope rush into me as those bright blue eyes locked onto mine. I frantically shuffled myself over to him, pulling him into a tight hug. Sure, I may've been hurting him. But do I care? NOPE. I let go of him and just stared. Stared into those bright blue eyes and...
I don't know what I was thinking.
I pulled him into a kiss. Our lips met. I felt butterflies flutter around my stomach, new feelings emerging for this boy that I have called my friend for so long. We pulled away after a few seconds, smiling and chuckling lightly. Well done for my first kiss. In a creepy basement, kissing the boy I love just after he practically died.
"Save the making out for later, we need to get out of here." I turned around to see the girl. "My names skylar by the way." She pulled down her mask... I smiled, now realising how stupid I was to not notice that. Like wow... I could not be more happy but traumatized at the same time. "Nice to see y-"
Slice
I stared as Skylar's body fell to the floor, standing behind her, black veins spreading up her body, one of her eyes hollow and black, a wound on her ankle, bleeding black blood everywhere... Was June.
"JUNE WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU DONE?!" She just laughed, an insane laugh. She shut the door, grabbed the keys of off Skylar's lifeless body and locked it. In her hand, she held a knife.
"See you've found our little experiment." Did she just... Call my best friend... An experiment?! Rage built up inside me and I stood up, going in to punch her when she grabbed my hand. She pushed me to the flood and kicked the back of her shoe into my stomach. I gasped for air, pain spreading around my body. She laughed maniacally. I saw Ben. Staring, too weak to help. I smiled, silently saying 'Your not helpless.'. June kicked me in my mouth, making me bite my lip. Blood rushing into my mouth and I spat it out. Eeeewwwww. She punched me in my side, winding me even more. She sat on my stomach, grabbing her knife and holding it up. I smiled. Well this is the end. Goodbyyeee cruel world.
But you do know...
You can't kill the main character.
Lewis punched her in the jaw, sending her against the wall. Damn he's strong. I decided to make light of this situation that will scar me for life and did a pencil role over to Ben, despite my lack of being able to breath and the pain on my lip. I glanced at Lewis, who had my girl best friend pinned against the wall, punching her everywhere. She fell to the floor, bloody and bruised.
"Nice job mate." I murmured, my lip hurting when I spoke.
"Thanks." Lewis panted. "Now lets go!"

Me and Lewis ran upstairs, not leaving this blasted place without our phones. We packed all our stuff up, Ben staying very close to me the entire time. We bolted outside, stealing June's bike for Ben, me and Lewis taking our own bikes.
And we made our way to my house.
"So." Lewis asked, while we were riding our bikes
"Yeah?" I responded
"You and Ben a couple yet?"
"Not yet." I smiled, giving Ben a glance. A glance that said 'Bitch I'm going to ask you out and kiss you as soon as we get off these bloody bikes'.

((Is that a good ending sentence?
