Our parents prepared a heavy breakfast for us the next morning,

My mom placed a cup full of fried rice on my plate and greeted us a cheery good morning.

"It's results day today so even if you fail, which I'm sure you both won't, always remember it's going to be okay, alright?" aunt Caroline smiled while giving Louise some fried rice on his plate.

I looked at Louise and he looked at me then I turned away.

Today is a new day and yesterday's tears will be smiles and laughs,

I'll forget about him then I won't need to suffer the pain I'm suffering right now.

Today, I'm going to face my results and today is the day I'm going to reject Gary's proposal.

I don't need a date to have fun; I have three beautiful and wonderful best friends,

What more can I ask for? The last school dance is going to be fun.

With or without Louise.

"I'm done!" I said as I finished my breakfast, I took a quick sip of orange juice then kissed mom, dad, aunt Caroline and uncle Nicholae.

"Wait, Louise isn't done yet." aunt Caroline stopped me from stepping out of the house.

I looked at Louise who is still finishing the piece of crunchy bacon on his plate and replied,

"It's okay, Tina's going to drive me off to school today."

"Well, that's nice, some girl time." my mom said while looking angrily on Louise.

"Yeah...oh by the way Louise.." I said smiling,

Louise looked at me with that same neutral face which I want to crush so bad for breaking my heart.

"I'm going home with Gary today." I emphasized the name Gary and yet he's still not showing any emotions.

"Did you guys get into an argument?" uncle Nicholae asked, his accent was really nice, it's so British and Moroccan and very foreigner-like.

"No uncle, we're just fine." I answered, I know Louise won't respond so I did the pleasure.

I stepped out of the house and Tina was waiting there for me. I was talking to her about my plans for college and the results.

When I reached the school, I was called by the principal so I rushed to the office with a mixture of excitement and nervous feelings.

"Good morning!" I greeted nervously.

He didn't greet back and handed me a brown envelope.

"Those are your college results." he smiled.

I excused myself and left the room,

I lifted the opening of the envelope slowly,

I admit, the test to my first choice university wasn't easy.

Infact, it was mind blowing. I took out the results and Jane, Karen and Tina are looking at my reaction.

There was a moment of silence then I cried.

"Why are you crying?" Karen asked,

"It's okay, the test there is really difficult and I know how you feel since it's your first choice school but look on the bright side, other universities will be happy to accept you." Jane comforted.

"Yeah, you're very smart Kris, I bet they'll even give you full scholarship." Tina added.

"That's not it!" I screamed.

They looked at me terrified then all of them laughed,

"I get it." Jane smiled.

"You passed, didn't you?" Karen grinned.

"YES! This is all tears of joy you dummies." I laughed.

I hugged the three of them and all of us rejoiced.

"Congratulations Kris.." Gary, who popped out of nowhere, frowned.

"Thanks. What's wrong?" I asked.

"You're going to be away for college when I turn 18!" he frowned.

Oh yeah, I remember, Gary's actually younger than me.

Then I remembered I was going to tell him something important.

"Um, could you give me a few minutes alone?" I told the girls.

"Sure. We'll go to the cafeteria first, okay?" Jane said.

"Okay." I smiled then they left.

"Um.. Gary.." I softly said, trying not to break his heart..

"I know what you're going to say.." he interrupted.

"Um, yeah. I decided to go with my friends.." I replied.

"Yeah, thought so. Why not go with Louise?" he asked.

"Um, I don't know." I smiled.

"He's not your brother, ain't he?" he grinned.

"How did you--" I shivered,

"I thought so. He told me yesterday." He interrupted.

"Did he tell you why?" I asked.

"Oh you will know soon. Don't worry, your secret's safe with me." he winked then left.

I met up with my friends in the cafeteria to go get some fast grub and Gary walked home with me.

I arrived home and told everybody I got in my first choice college and everybody was happy and celebrating with champagne glasses, except for Louise, whose face looks like he lost in a big lottery or something.

Who cares!? School is about to end and the last school dance is next week.

I absolutely can't wait.
