Selen PoV:
"Luck on your first day honey,"- Maria screamed on the other end of the conversation. She really was crazy, screaming like that when Selen knew she was in a public place. She couldn't help but chuckle. Hanging up the phone, she focused on the road ahead. Selen had to admit that she too was very excited she was going to be the personal assistant of a multimillion dollar company's CEO, but that also send cold chills down her spine. Her new job involved a lot of responsibilities and though she was fully prepared for the role, she couldn't help but feel anxious and highly nervous; one thing was sure, she was not going to screw this up, no matter what; she was going to do it!
Pulling over the underground parking lot, she quickly made her way to the elevator and pressed 24. She had been here once before, for the interview; and the lady had absolutely loved her; she had loved the lady too. From her she had learned that her new boss was very strict and meticulous, but also a kind hearted man; he wanted work done right and on time, but would just as well give you the day off if you had reason. The blond woman had furthermore explained all there was to her job; morning coffee, paperwork, personal agenda, arranging meetings and special events, as well as attending them, daily program; all of which activities Selen was more than willing to comply with. She had also learned that her new boss was married and from time to time his wife would come and Selen would have to attend her too; apparently she was a good but very spoiled woman and she'd have to bite her tongue often, or so the woman said.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, she made her way to her new desk. Her heart was beating extremely fast and she couldn't help but feel a bit shaky. She had seen the room previously, but being there as it's new occupant had high impact on her. Her desk was located in a small sort of pre-office, just outside of the main office in that building, her boss's office, the CEO; on top of which was a laptop, telephone and on the right most corner was a set of folder holders filled with the latest files and contracts; so she had gathered. In front of her desk was a big red couch, a cloth hanger right next to it and the rest of the room had a half canteen- half cupboard-half cabinet, parts of which were used for file keeping and the rest had mugs and necessary stuff for a quick lunch. There even was a coffee maker and a big fruit carrier filled with all kinds of fruits.
After having assessed her surroundings, she hanged her coat and purse too; quickly making her way to the coffee maker. She prepared her boss's coffee, just as she had been taught too, hot, black and no sugar. Didn't bother to knock on the door, knowing full well she was 30 minutes early and entering carefully, so as not to spill it, and gracefully lowered it on his desk. Glancing around the room she couldn't help but think how magnificent and large it was. Just like her office, it had couches and drawers, and the big deep brown wooden desk in the center, only this one looked much gloomier and dark, as most things were either black, gray or deep brown. Placed on the desk was a photo-frame and she wanted to pick it up; her curiosity pushing her to see who her new boss was; but decided against it. She had to control those childish and unprofessional urges; she was no longer working in a small country company.
Selen made her way to her desk and sat on it. It was her first day so all she had taken with her was a highly professional pencil holder, filled with all kinds of pencils, pens, stickers, markers and stuff she had deemed useful. Apart from that, she had brought her IPad, for notes and meetings. After setting everything straight and neat, she turned on her pc. Just as she was about to enter the passcode she had been given, footsteps and laughter was heard down the hall, just outside the elevator. She could distinguish two sets of footsteps, female and male; boss and wife she thought to herself, rapidly standing up from her desk; taking a formal posture. She could feel her heart rate increase exceedingly and stop altogether when the couple entered the room and she realized in whose presence she was in. She felt light headed and weak in the knees, wanting to shrink and become invisible; only she had no such luck as both pairs of eyes sat on her, one's tranquil and undisturbed, the other's wide with realization.
