Selen PoV:

"Hey, brought you coffee,"- Michael said, as he handed it to her. The coffee was scorching hot; yet the burning sensation didn't bother her this time. Her head was too distracted to take notice of outside stimulations.

"I know you are devastated, but you have to pull yourself together. Your face gives it all away and Hope might be young, but she will know something is wrong. You have to gather yourself for her."- he tried to console her.

"How am I going to tell her, Michael? How am I going to tell her she is sick? That she can't just go home with me tonight. How?"- she burst out crying again. Taking the cup out of her hand, he placed them both down the ground and embraced Selen's shaking body.

"She. is. my. little. girl.,"- she let out between sobs and hugged Michael tight, needing any consolation she might get.

"Shshsh,"- he spoke softly, patting simultaneously her head and back.

"She will be alright. I'm sure of it... This is just a test, a small obstacle that you both will get through. "- he said and she knew it came from the heart. After crying for a few minutes and wiping the tears from her eyes, she lifted her head to look at the man who had been staying by her side for hours now and he had no obligation to.

"Thank you,"- she told him, flashing him a small , weak smile.

"Anytime!"- he smiled back.

Selen didn't know how, or why, or for how long they had stayed like that, simply gazing in each-other eyes; but she found herself, and him, leaning closer. Slowly his lips brushed against hers very very softly. This was one of those teenage kisses, short but very sweet and meant. She didn't understand why but Michael made her feel safe and at ease; and right now she needed that. Needed the comfort of knowing that somebody was there for her. And yes, she was well aware Alex was there too, but he was Hope's father and nothing else. She couldn't and wouldn't think of him as anything more.

After the kiss, Michael lifted his head and kissed her forehead too; hugging her again. Breathing in she took in his scent and it was very nice. She felt warm inside and she allowed herself to close her eyes and relax a little bit. The thought of her daughter was present in her mind non stop, but she allowed herself to enjoy just a few seconds of peace before the nerve-wrecking and heart-breaking moments stepped in; before her baby took possession of every thought and cell of her body, till she heard doctor McKinley say that Hope was safe and sound and this horrible nightmare was in the past for good.

After a long wait, Hope was finally back in her bed and fast asleep. She covered her baby and turned off the light, while Maria closed the curtains, to allow Hope a peaceful sleep; even though it was afternoon. Making sure to tiptoe, they all left the room and stepped outside, closing the door in their wake.

"We should talk to the doctor about the results."- Maria said whispering.

"Mari, we are outside, you don't have to whisper anymore.- Selen whispered too.

"And I was just thinking about that, though I 'll call Alex first. He might want to be here too."- with that, she picked up the phone and dialed his number. Looking up, she noticed that Michael wasn't very pleased at the mention of his name, but took that boyish posture of his, by placing his hands in his front pockets. She wanted to say something to him, but didn't really know what. After all, she herself hadn't been able to explain the kiss Alex had given her the previous day. Which reminded her. She still hadn't asked him what the hell had gotten over him!

"Selen what's wrong?"- she heard his concerned voice and immediately pushed off any thoughts of reclamation. Focusing on Hope was first and whatever talk they needed to have came way back in her list of priorities.

"Nothing. Calm down. Just wanted to tell you that Hope is in her room and fast asleep and we were about to go talk to doctor McKinley. Wanted to know if you wanted for us to wait?"- she concluded.

"I'm on my way now. Should be there in thirty minutes or so, so do me the favor of waiting. And who is we?"- he asked and she could tell something bothered him; though she didn't dwell on it.

"Maria and I"- she simply stated.

"And who is staying with Hope if you both come to the doctor's office?"

"Michael,"- she told him and he went silent for a moment.

"Be there as soon as I can."- he than broke the silence and the conversation as he hung up and Seen mentally frowned. What the actual fuck? Well she couldn't possibly try to comprehend the man, who to her was a 1000 piece puzzle; out of which she had only the first 100. So yeah..

"What did he say?"- Maria asked her.

"He will be here soon, so we'll have to wait."- she told her friend, giving her a small smile that said a lot. They knew each-other ever since the age of 6 when they both entered first grade, so Maria knew full well how to decipher her expressions. Patting her arm slowly, she returned her smile.

"emm.... There is something I haven't told you... yet"- Maria blurted out, which in turn made Selen frown.

"What?"- she questioned.

"I..umm. I kinda saw your father on my way here. You know when I went to pick Hope's tiger. "- Maria, said, fidgeting with her fingers; knowing full well this was a hot topic for her friend. A very hot and hard one.

"I don't want to know."- Selen said and turned away to go sit in the chairs she has sat previously with Alex.

"You sure?"- Maria asked her, knowing full well how much she had suffered his rejection and words. And though she thought the man was an absolute moron at the time; with all due respect; she couldn't help but think that they needed to sit and talk face to face at least one last time.

"Yes,"- Selen breathed out.

"I want to hear absolutely nothing concerning him."

Those were the last words spoken between the three of them, as silence followed quickly after. Each one of them stood there contemplating and thinking on their own. Selen however, was struggling with her one emotions. What Maria had just told her, stayed glued in her brain and she couldn't shake it off. She had told herself she hated him for so long now and had tried to convince herself many many time, but the sad truth was that she didn't. She was hurt, very very hurt and disappointed. And between her feelings for her father and those she had thought she held for Alex, she had come to the simple conclusion that she just couldn't hate people. Maybe she was too naive or too stupid to too whatever, but she just couldn't bring herself to hate any of the two man responsible for a great deal of her suffering. One thing was sure though, she wasn't going to forget any of it; not for a long while at least.

"Selen!"- she heard his voice call her and immediately she lifted her gaze. Alex was walking towards her with long strides and she couldn't help but feel emotions she herself didn't know how to comprehend or interpret. So as the grown up woman she was, she decided to ignore them! That ought to do it!
