"Having something and losing it, it's so much crueler than never having had it."
~~~~~~~Victoria Schwab; The Unbound.
Selen PoV:
"How dare he! Who does he think he is?? " – she was mumbling to herself, furious. Slamming her feet, she made her usual angry walk, face and gestures. She really was furious! If eyes could burn, Alex would be no more than a pile of ash right about now. Unfortunately, her eyes were the sweets blue, and no matter how dark they became when she felt like killing someone, they never lost their innocence and light that seemed to be made by the hand of the greatest painter in the universe. She hated it! Why couldn't they lose color and become menacing when she felt exactly the same inside? Why couldn't they stare people away and not be so damn soft!?
Storming down stairs, couldn't help but remember the taste of his mouth on her, the feelings that awoke with every time he flashed her that smile of his. It affected her, he affected her, but she couldn't allow herself to dwell on that; she wouldn't! He was married and she wasn't about to skip past it. Yes, she had been 'the other one' four years ago, but that didn't count! She was oblivious of the truth then. Now... now it was different!
As always, when rage took over her, her pace fastened and her mind obscured all other thought. Hadn't it been for her ringing phone, she would have walked outside the company and half way across town, before she even realized she had been walking in the first place.
Unzipping her purse, she picked it out, reveling Maria's name on it. Surprised she'd call at this hour, and with a bad feeling in her heart, she answered.
'Maria? What..."- she couldn't conclude her sentence as her best, nearly sister, friend's sobs pierced her ear. Something was wrong and her mind raced with uncontrolled speed.
"Maria what is it?"- she gathered her heart enough to hear the answer.
"Hope..."- she sobbed again and Selen's heart stopped beating.
"What happened to Hope? What happened to my baby daughter?'- she asked, frantic.
"She is... she was h..h-hos-hospitalized..."- there came the answer that shattered the floor off her feet and the heart out off her chest. Her baby girl had been hospitalized... the mere thought sent tears waterfall down her cheeks. Praying, praying for her baby girl to be alright, she asked:
"W-Why?"- dreading the reply.
"S-she had tummy pain. I-it aggravated till the point she started to cry and..."- Maria couldn't continue narrating any longer, and Selen didn't want to hear. Her angel, her HOPE, had been in pain... It hurt her! It sent knives to her heart.
"What h—hos..."- she couldn't finish.
"Central, near her kindergarten. "
With that, she ended the phone call and ran towards her car, tears clouding her view; though the ones clouding her heart were way worst.
"Please baby!"- she spoke, herself not understanding why. All she understood was that she needed to be near her child to ensure her and herself that it was all right. As she begun unlocking her door, shaking hand made it hard for her, she heard heels approach. She didn't care. No one mattered to her now. She had to go to her baby. She had to!
"Selen?"- he heard Vivian say behind her, right when she had finally managed to unlock the damned to or. Turning around, she saw the other woman's eyes wide and for a second it puzzled her, until she realized she was still crying.
