~~~~The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
Audrey Hepburn~~~~~~~
Alex Pov:
"Hi,"- he heard her say and he wanted to listen, he really did, but the way that dress flattered every curve in her body made that impossible. He had seen beautiful women before, breathtaking even, and yet he couldn't train himself to behave. Alex knew he must be looking like a fool from where she was standing, but he couldn't help it. Maybe it was that black dress that didn't reach her knees and was so simple, yet so alluring, or maybe her eyes that invited him.
She looked astonishing, though Alex could tell she wasn't aware of all the eyes looking at her, eyes that he wanted to punch shut. Selen was nervous, her blush, her fidgety hands that were nervously playing with the back of her small purse, told him that.
"Hi,"- he replied and getting up, he helped her chair for her. Shortly after they had made themselves comfortable, well as much as they could be under the circumstances, one of the waitresses came along.
"Welcome to our restaurant! What will you be having this fine evening mam'?"- the blond-ie inquired Selen, who was carefully looking at the menu, effectively shutting him down. It took her mere seconds to order her drink, some sort of whine, he wasn't sure; whine wasn't what was on his mind currently.
"I thought the dinner was at 8,"- she broke the silence; which to be honest he was enjoying very much; it gave him time to study her face and features leisurely. Alex found it funny how though it had been years, nothing about her had changed, not a single hair strand was different; though everything between them had.
"It was, but apparently they like to make a delayed entrance,"- he abhorred such actions; an appointment had to be kept or announced previously at least, but this situation was working just fine for him. Just as he had finished his word, her phone rang and simultaneously her whine came.
"Yes, hello.."- he heard her say, focused on her lips more than the words she was saying. His focus fading in and out, though coming at full speed when her eyes rested on him, something she had refrained herself from doing all the while she had been there.
"Mr. Smith's assistant called me. Seems he himself had been in a car accident and we wont be able to get a hold of him for weeks."
"Well that's a petty. The deal was sure to be beneficial for both parties. Make sure to send flowers on the company's name tomorrow and schedule a meeting with the next in line. This project must move forward."- dry and curt.
"First thing tomorrow morning and since the wont be a work dinner any longer..."- she took to leave.
"Stay.."- what? It had been an impulse but he couldn't take it back, and he wanted her to stay..
"What?"- and the expected reaction followed.
"(Cough) i-I mean, we both wasted our times in coming here, might as well enjoy the dinner."
"Thanks, but no thanks. If that all you had to say, then goodnight Mr. Hall"- he wasn't the only one who could be dry and curt, apparently. And with that she left.
"Where were you?"- Vivian questioned, just as he took the first step inside.
"Supposedly in a work dinner,"- he spoke, as he made his way to the bedroom, taking his jacked off in the meanwhile.
"Supposedly?"- he could feel her raised brow, though she was standing behind him.
"Yes. The man had some sort of accident. We'll have to find a new partner."- frustration clear in his voice, as he forcefully took off his tie.
