"Oh my God!"- she said, covering up her mouth with both hands. Crap she couldn't believe what had just happened. She had dread facing the figure she had managed to get in dire need of a shower; the mere thought of it being Alex made her weak in the knees, but facing it now she wished it had been him. Splashing food and drinks in front of your baby dady was horrible, you know with the whole dumping, married, baby thing, but splashing shit all over his mother! God that was the worst! And she is an atheist!
" Oh my God, oh my God, oh my god!"- she yelped like a little girl in her head.
"Out of all people! Out of all people it had to be the old stick up British lady. And yes I said stick up! The lady is more rigid than a stick made of steel!"- she thought again as she witnessed the shift in her gaze from shocked to want to murder someone. Unlucky, she was at the receiving end.
" I'm so Sorry! I'm so very very sorry!"- Selen said, placing her hands flat in front of her, gesturing her feeling. The British stick, ummm the old lady, didn't seem fazed by her words at all. Kept eyeing her with an emotion Selen was finding hard to understand. The look in her eyes couldn't possibility be from her ruining her outfit. She meant yeah there was that, but something else was there too and it bothered her.
"Is there anything I can do to help you?"- she reluctantly asked.
" No, you have done quite enough. "- she said and Selen could swear there was something else. Shrugging it off, she spoke again.
" I really truly am sorry!"- she honesty said and her baby grandma simply nodded. Then she made her way towards what Selen guessed was her car and right before the chauffeur opened the door for her to step in, she turned to her.
"Would it be all right if I visited my granddaughter today at about 7pm?"
Taken a bit aback by her question, Selen could only manage to nod in awe. It surprised her that she was asking for permission, it was her granddaughter after all, but than again she was British royalty so courtesy was part of her being.
After she watched the car drive away, she remembered that she had just failed two out of three tasks her boss had told her.
"Damn!"- she swore.
After several minutes she found herself at her office, walking up and down nervously and through fidgeting hands. Alex would probably say nothing, but she still felt anxious.
Suddenly her phone rang and it startled the living breath out of her. It was Alex.
" He-hello,"- she stuttered.
"Selen where are you?"- he asked right away.
" I.. Umm.. In front of your door "- she shyly replied.
" Well what are you doing there? Enter!"- he told and then hung up.
Deep breath and a knock on the door, she waited for him to let her in.
" Come in"- his voice broke the silence. Slowly she opened the door, peeking a bit first, then when met with his frown, fully entering.
"What's wrong?"- he asked when he notice her nervousness.
" I...um...I did s-something... I.ummm.."
"Selen stop stalling. What happened?"- he asked calmly, leaning back in his chair, hands steady over the desk sides.
