The next day...

BTW, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A FANFIC. SOME PARTS OF IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE.

I watched as Netty's car pulled up to my house. I sat on the blue rocking chair on our porch, sadly looking off into the distance. I was clearly not as happy as I was yesterday. Almost two weeks had gone by without Stampy. I saw Netty's car door open and she stepped out grinning at me.

"Hi Beth!" she yelled from across my front lawn, waving.

I waved back, fighting the urge to cry. I missed Stampy more and more every minute. I held my head in my hands, tears pouring out of my eyes. I heard Netty mutter something to someone else. This was just great. She had brought someone else with her. Someone that I probably didn't even know.

I heard footsteps and soon after felt a pat on my shoulder. The familiar Yorkshire accent filled my ears. "Squid?" I said, shocked. "What are you doing here?"

"Netty and I are your official psychologists to help you recover from depression," he said.

"We've known Joe the longest, and of course we also know how to make you feel happy again," Netty said with a hopeful tone in her voice.

Sadness flashed through my eyes. "You won't be able to help, not unless you can bring Stampy back to me."

"Bethany, we understand how you feel, and you know that there's no way we can do that," Netty said. "But we can help you, if you want us to."

I thought for a moment. I normally was an enthusiastic person who was always happy. Did I really want to live the rest of my life in despair, or could I possibly be able to be myself. I thought harder. "Okay," I said at last. "I'll give a try..."

"Yay!" said Netty and Squid together. "C'mon, we've lots to do!"

I followed them into the house.

"Alright," Netty said. "The first thing we want you to know is that you meant a great deal to him. he talked about you all the time and was constantly trying to make you happy."

"Now," Squid started. "You have to understand that Stamps is pretty shy when it comes to romance. There were all of these things that he wanted to do for you, but he never had the courage to tell you."

"Really?" I asked.

Netty nodded. "Whenever he showered, he practiced what he was too nervous to say to you. He used that little underwater camera of his to record it. Then, he'd study off of it."

"I happen to have this camera," said Squid. "We wanted you to watch the videos, just to know what he went through for you."

"Okay," I said, a hint of nervousness in my voice.

"And don't worry," Netty said, plugging the camera into my projector. "It's perfectly okay to cry."

'We probably will too," Squid said.

"Why?" I asked, surprised.

"Because," Netty said. "You didn't just loose a boyfriend on that chairlift. I lost a brother."

"And I lost a best friend," said Squid.

I sat there, stunned. "I-I-I'm really sorry," I said. "I never really thought about it that way. That was really selfish of me!"

"It's understandable," Netty said. "But let's watch the videos now!"

"Here's the first one," Squid said. "It was all the way back when he still lived with his parents."

"He's been doing this that long," I cried.

"Apparently so," said Squid. "Ha! Look at him!" he cried, eyeing the thumbnail picture of Stampy with his hair all wet from the shower.

Hey Bethany, or Beth. I'm Joe- well you probably already knew that- wait no! you definitely did- eh never mind. Anyway, with all these videos we've been making, well- it's been fun. Really fun, in fact. And I sort of, well, ... you're really nice and pretty and gorgeous, and talented and really really pretty.  I-I-I like you. I was wondering if... maybe... you... wantedtobemygirlfriend?

I laughed so hard at him. Netty and Squid were laughing too. "Haha! He's so nerdy," I said, giggling.

Netty was squealing. "Oh my gosh!" she cried. "He is such a weirdo!"

Squid was still grinning. "That's Joe for you!" he said, laughing really hard.

We watched the rest of the videos, laughing the entire time. "This is so cringy!" I said between giggles.

"I know right!" said Netty. "Joe is such a weirdo!"

After we had drank some tea and finished the videos, Netty and Squid went home. They said I had done an amazing job and that I already seemed happier. This was the first time I had smiled since the accident. I still couldn't help missing Stampy though. Every time I thought about it, my mood immediately dropped. Every time I felt a tiny bit better, it all went away. Squid said this was normal and he would help me with this at the next lesson. I couldn't wait.
