SQUID'S POV

"I'd do anything, for you dear anything!" sang The Artful Dodger in Oliver.

WHAT!? Did I seriously just do that? I couldn't believe that I was humming along to a love song in front of Sqaishey. She probably thought I was crazy by now. Nice job David. You just ruined your chances of having the perfect girl. On the other hand, this would be a perfect opportunity to tell her! She obviously didn't like me back, but as long as she knew, I'd be satisfied. I couldn't keep secrets any longer. I took a deep breath- no I couldn't do this! No David! You have to!

"I'd do anything," I began.

SQAISHEY'S POV

What on Earth was Squid doing? He probably was just being silly and having fun with the show, I always do that. I decided though, to take this as an opportunity to secretly show my love for him.

"For you dear anything!" I sang back.

SQUID'S POV

She. Sang. Back. Oh my goodness! Maybe this wouldn't be such a fail after all.

"For you mean everything," I sang.

"To me," she sweetly sang.

What if, what if I actually did mean everything to her? Probably not. I was getting way too full of myself. I know that, I'd go anywhere, for your smile, anywhere."

"For your smile, everywhere," she sang back again.

"To see," I sang, terribly off key.

She giggled and then sang back, "Would you climb a hill?"

"Anything."

"Wear a daffodil?"

"Anything."

"Leave me all your will?"

"Anything."

"Even fight my Bill?"

Uh oh I didn't know this part.  "Erm, uh, anything?" I half sang half questioned.

She laughed. Her laugh was amazing. "Silly Squidy!"

I smiled at her. She stared at me.

"What? Aren't we going to do the next part?" she asked.

"Erm, well I don't exactly know it..." I said. I did know it, but it involved something about kissing and I wasn't ready for that.

"Oh, okay!" she laughed. "That was fun! And silly!"

I knew I had to tell her, but I just... couldn't. We listened to the rest of the song, and I felt that I finally had the courage to tell her.

"Bethany..." I began.

"Yeah what's up?" she asked.

I took a deep breath. "IreallyreallylikeyouandJoeissuperluckytohavesomeonelikeyouandIknowyoudon'tlikemebackbutIjusthadtogetthatouttheresorry," I rapidly said.

She wrinkled her eyebrows at me. Great David, look what you just did. She hates you know.

"Um," she began. "I didn't quite catch that, could you say it again?"

I nodded.

"Slower though!" she said.

I tried to not think and just speak. "Joe," I began. "Well, he's really lucky to have someone like you. I mean you're talented, smart, funny, and really really pretty!" I said.

"Um, why thank you!" she said, giggling.

She thought I was kidding. Great. "What I mean to say is, I have a crush on you. A big one." As soon as I said that, I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. I was expecting a punch in the face,  but that wasn't at all what happened.

I felt her soft lips up against mine. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I wasn't complaining. It felt wonderful. I heard her soft voice in my ear.

"Me too..."
