Chapter twenty eight

Hide and seek.

It was like we're playing hide and seek. He would go out at dawn to have a jog and then he'd go straight to the farm after. At dahil sa kwarto ni Mason ito natutulog simula ng mangyari ang insidenteng 'iyon', mas lalo pang dumalang ang mga beses na nagpapang-abot sila ni Nick. They don't eat breakfast together anymore. Instead, Julio would go to the farm to deliver his coffee and sandwich.

Every morning after breakfast, Alleck and I would go to Alice's and Jared's house to help with the kids' piano lessons. Sa kanila na din kami kumakain ng lunch kaya hapon na sila kung makauwi. At kada uwian, Mason is the one who's picking them up. Sometimes Julio would, but often times, it would be Mason.

"May laman na ba ulit iyan?"

Mula sa iniinom na tsaa, lumipat ang kanyang tingin kay Alice na may pilyang ngiti sa mga labi.

"What?" Maang kong tanong.

"Ang sabi ko kung may kasunod na ba si Alleck?" Bungisngis nito.

Alice rolled her eyes at my lack of idea.

"God woman, what planet did you came from?" She said in exasperation. "I'm asking if you're already pregnant?"

Muntik na niyang maibuga ang tsaang nasa bibig niya sa tanong na iyon.

"What?!"

"I'm asking if you're already pregnant, geez!"

"Of course I'm not pregnant! Why would I be pregnant?" I said indignantly.

"Duh! Of course first, you have a very handsome and sexy man for a husband, not to mention a husband who owns a very sinful and hot body. Plus, your gorgeous dear. You're body is to die for, and after that libido inducing wine and game that Mason orchestrated during christmas, I'm assuming he already knocked you up."

Her mouth opened and closed like a fish. Ang daming tumatakbong tanong sa isip niya.

"Libido inducing wine...?"

"Oops... sorry. I promised Mason it would be our little secret but since the cat is already out of the bag.. yes, the wine he gave you.. it was drugged."

She said, like the whole thought of her drinking a drugged wine is not shocking at all!

"Oh don't be too shocked, dear. It wasn't that bad. Come to think of it.. mag-asawa naman kayo. And besides, what we did was just a little boost to spice up your marriage life.."

She was rendered speechless. She just sat there, stock still with her tea in hand. Isang tanong lang ang umiikot sa isip niya...

Did something happened between Nick and her that night? Did they do something that would make her think she's pregnant by now? If not, why would she ask her about being pregnant?

Come to think of it.. she did woke up that morning with only his shirt and a panty different from the one she wore that night and he admitted of changing them.

He saw her in all her glory..

A man who wasn't even her real husband saw her naked! God! This is so embarassing!

"You're not sure yet? Did you already take a pregnancy test?"

Her face heated up at the question. She felt like a clueless teenager talking to her nanny about menstruation and pregnancy all over again!

"I just had my menstruation.."

Alice's face fell. "Oh well, both of you will just have to try. Besides, you two are very healthy. Paniguradong hinding hindi kayo mahihirapang magka-anak. Perhaps, you will have to try different positions.. experiment."
