He was grunting while walking towards his bed. His wound re-opened due to the exertion. There were blood seeping through the gauze taped over his wound.
"Here let me help you with that.."
"It's fine."
Kinuha nito sa kamay niya ang gauze. He gently removed the soiled gauze at ito na mismo ang nagpahid sa sugat.
He did it without sparing her another glance. No words. No glances. She just stood there, her presence completely ignored. She bit her lower lip at the sudden coldness. She never felt rejection in her whole life.
And this man's rejection was like a fist wrapped around her heart. Mabigat.. nakakasakal..
Still, she shoved it to the deepest pit of her mind, ignoring it.She cleared her throat before talking. "Are you hungry? Do you want your food to be served here? It's already dinner, I can ask--"
"I'm fine, Dreena. I'll get myself some food once I get hungry."
She was stunned.
She cannot believe hearing him call her name instead of princess will stun her like that.
It wasn't a big deal. She should not be feeling this way towards it but it bloody felt like something way too far from normal!
"Alright." She answered. Her voice clipped. "I won't ask you again." Ever.
"I want to rest."
That's it! How dare he ignore her, treat her like someone who's unimportant, and then suddenly dismiss her like she's an ill mannered servant who did a lousy job?!
"Would you mind being a gentleman for once and ask me politely?" Sarcasm was dripping in her voice.
His lips curled up. "I thought we are already clear on that regard, your grace? I'm never one to be a gentleman remember?"
"Must you always be this rude?"
"You know me, old habits die hard.."
"Indeed. But it seems like I failed to know the extent of rudeness you possess."
He sighed in surrender. "What do you really want from me Dreena?"
"Why are you suddenly acting like you've been taken over by a knob-head?" She shot back.
He looked taken aback by her question. Umawang ang bibig nito.
"Do you even know what knob-head means..?"
Umismid siya. "Of course! It means dickhead." Puno ng kumpiyansang sabi niya.
Umangat ang isang kilay nito. "And do you know what Dick-head means?"
She rolled her eyes. "It means stupid, what else?"
He smirked. "That's the subtle way of putting it."
She stared at him for a few seconds. Nang mapansin nitong wala siyang kaide-ideya sa sinasabi nito, he saighed before finally saying..
"You don't call my penis stupid, your grace." He drawled.
Umawang ang bibig niya. She looked at him indignantly. How could he mention his most private part na parang balewala lang iyon? That's preposterous!
"I didn't even say pe---" She stopped herself on time.
He was still wearing that annoying smirk on his face when he explained, "Dick means Penis. And when you add the word head to it, it would mean a Penis' Head. Seriously, where did you even learn that?"
