"Free"

A/N: This poem was made years ago, so please excuse it. This was made during my starting years in poetry. Anyway, I hope you like it and I hope your hearts are still okay.

I'm not the average person you see on the street

Only giving me a hand would give life to my feet

Sitting down all day, that's how I move around

Everyone has their eyes on me as I roam around town

Even with that condition, I continue with my life

With every drop of sunshine, I learn to fly

I may be accustomed to what has become of me

But I can't help feeling that I am not free

Free to run on the warm, white sand

Free to dance whenever I can

Free to ride a bicycle under the moon

Free to walk around the flowers that bloom

This is the dream that I long for

And there is nothing that I'd want more

I don't even know how or if I can achieve it

But what I didn't know is that time has its limit

So one day darkness struck

And I couldn't pull myself back up

My faith faded as I grew weak

Hope was gone for what I seek

As I lay there and gave my final breath

Ready to look in the face of death

My soul gained peace 'cause where I'll be

I know that I can finally be free
