In the Face of Death

You can run from him but it's no good
He will catch you anyway
Even if you hide while you still could
He will find you come the day

He'll never tell when he'll arrive
He could abruptly end it all
Or he could slowly pull you into his hive
While you surrender to his thrall

But even he knows when it's all too much
He knows when you are all alone
He will hold out his hand for you to clutch
You'll find warmth in his touch cold as stone

You'll find comfort in his deadly embrace
You'll be tempted to take his hand
Finally, he'll say, you can leave this place
I'll be the one who understands

He will get into your lonely mind
And then he'll be all you'll hear
He'll pretend to give comfort, pretend to be kind
You'll think he's the answer to all of your fears

His night will seem like day
And the dark will look like light
The cold will feel as warm as May
With him you'll feel no fright

And you, in your state
Who can't even think straight
Will hand him your own fate
Before anyone could state:

That he is not the answer
That no, you shouldn't listen
That things will still get better
And good things still could happen

That he will not solve anything
That you should not accept his touch
That you are not just nothing
That you can still be o so much

That there is someone who cares for you
That it will someday be all right
That it will be hard, yes it's true
But you can still make things right

That yes, he'll get you out of there
But he'll steal you from Life's grasp
He'll just lure into his dark lair
And you won't escape his clasp

He'll make you think that he's a friend
When really, he's all but that
He'll tempt you though it's not yet your end
Only time has control of that

Even in your misery
You should never bow to him
You can withstand the agony
You won't bend at his wim

'Cause that is all he ever does
He makes life seem like a threat
So when you're down and he comes around
Stay strong and say no to Death

A/n: Wow, she actually made something that isn't sad and/or depressing...

Yeah, it surprised me too. It did start out dark in my head but halfway through I changed my mind. I hope this gets through to the people going through a rough patch in life. Stay strong and have a nice day!
