"Beautiful Girl"

Such a fair maiden, alone in her seat

My eyes are captivated, my heart skips a beat

I do my best not to look, to hold back a smile

I really have to go, but I'll stay for a while

Rare, blue gems are her eyes o so bright

Her sweet, sweet smile gives all the world delight

Auburn locks flow down her shoulders and into a curl

Lips full of color; more precious than a pearl

Her beauty stands out; in a bush, the only rose

Angelic was her face when on her the sun shone

I stared in awe, wishing her to be mine

I drink in her fairness like the best of all wine

I yearn for her touch, wish I could speak

To gather up courage; tell her she's what I seek

The feelings overwhelm me, too long since I've felt this way

I want to see and be with her every single night and day

I check the time; it brings me back to reality

I need to leave, I stand in a hurry

I take one last look; tattoo her smile in my mind

I push open the door and leave my happiness behind

I walk down the street and on the way back home

I can't stop myself thinking of the girl in the store

My mind is filled with images of her

The more I think, the more my heart grows heavier

At my front door I pause, let out a sigh

Now that I'm far I feel like I've died

She brought light in my life that was dark for too long

Though my heart seeks her, I know that it's wrong

I shove my thoughts back deep in my head

My feelings I hide, replaced with sorrow instead

I open the door, head up to my room

Try not to remember eyes shining like the moon

I love her, I do; but my conscience won't rest

So I struggle to erase her, 'cause it is for the best

Though it's painful, though it's hard, I go on with my life

Won't let her in my thoughts as I kiss my wife goodnight
