I remember the day we met the first time
In a coffee shop one morning, a little past nine
You smiled, we talked, shared our love of rhyme
It shone a little brighter in this dull world of mine

I remember the gift I got from you
As you strummed some strings and sung a tune
You spoke of love so deep and feelings true
Under a field of stars and a bright, silver moon

I remember the feeling of your arms around me
Whispering nothings underneath the apple tree
All the silly little jokes and the places we've seen
You made me feel loved, you made me feel free

I remember how you would hold me tight
When all was dark and you were my light
When you kept me safe in the cold of the night
All the I love you's and kisses goodnight

I remember the feelings I never could shake
The shine in your eyes as we danced by the lake
All the promises that you and I made
Of eternal love that will never fade

I remember the days of you and I
We'd link our hands and look up at the sky
When the world was still bright and not full of lies
I remember the days before our goodbye
