"Listen"

No one can hear me
No one can see
I shout and I shout
But no one is listening

They scoff, they laugh
When you tell them you're hurt
Then ignore you again
Like you're no one on earth

Sometimes they try
To pretend that they care
But for morality's sake
Often, it's fake

No one's beside me
No one can feel me
No one to heal me
No one to hear me

Words never get them
Their hearts have no ears
I shout and I cry
They don't care about the tears

I shut my mouth up
Decided not to talk
Put on a mask
Tried to smile at all costs

They slowly start to listen
To my fake, happy calls
My smile, my laugh
My disguise attracts them all

I hide behind smiling eyes
I hide my pain away
They all come closer, all come near
They listen to what I say

What a wonderful feeling
To have them close
Though I know it's not
Really me that they chose

At least now they listen
Now they all lend their ears
Even though I'm still under
Where no one will hear
