YOUR HEART KNOWS IT

Part 1

The parking lot is still empty at this time of hour since we open at 9 am. It's quarter to six in the morning and most probably the people won't be around not until 8 am.

"Good morning!"

"Good morning to you too. Thank you for coming I hope I didn't disturb your time with your family."

"Oh, no worries besides Cynthia and the twins were willing to attend the party without me I would rather be here than bore me there."

"Aha. Wait til' your wife hears that coming from you." I jokingly said.

"I was happy you asked but please don't tell her, you know how kids' party goes." Hands clasp together and faking the begging look.

David has been my long-time Head Chef if it wasn't for him and his loyalty I wouldn't be where I am or should I say we? 8 years of knowing each other and he's like a family to me now, the brother I always had.

"I won't, you know I won't that's just between us"

"Awww that's why I love you" what an ass. I just couldn't help but smile.

"And I love you too now let's get ready to roll"

We both wore an apron and a minute later he was busy setting the ingredients for the main course while my hands are tied preparing for the appetizer and dessert.

"You know I could have done this alone," David said while cutting the mushroom.

"Hmmm. I know right? But you know how Dee goes, she is a somewhat tenacious woman."

"Tell me about it she gave you that same old drama again didn't she" You don't love me anymore, I thought you were my friend if I could only cook I'll do it myself this is my last chance of survival I'm gonna lose a potential client if you don't help me now I'll just go back to bla bla bla. I can't help but laugh watching him imitate how Dee talks but most of what he said was just how she went to be a drama queen in front of me well actually more dramatic but close.

"You know she did, anyway I already said yes so can we just please focus they'll be here in two hours" pointing at the clock.

"Na-ah, you just can't say no, can't you? Rachel the always solicitous per-- " I nudged him before he can even finish talking

"Ouch! What, am I wrong? You were supposed to be heading North by now but here you are doing a favor for a friend again. She'll get an ear from me when I see her later how could she ask you to do this today of all the days" with an emphasis.

I placed the layers of cake on the table, I almost forgot to ask the staff to thaw it for me yesterday good thing Dee called to remind me that the client wants the cake to be simple yet sumptuous or else, never mind. Am not surprised that the man was able to cut those stuff while talking to me heck he can even slice the cucumber evenly without looking.

"Alright I get what you mean it's an eight hours drive but I'll manage besides I can't back out now can't I? "

"Pfftt. Whatever"

"Pfftt. You talk like a girl." We just laughed at each other and continued doing what needs to be done.
