She looks so beautiful in that dress. The natural color of the cloth suits her well that even without makeup she's astounding. Earlier she was wearing a simple black shirt and jeans not that she isn't pretty already but a wardrobe change makes her glow up even more.
She walks silently as I follow her behind, the wind blowing her long black hair. We reached the spot where my car was parked and as I was about to open the front passenger seat for her she already made herself comfy at the back seat but I let it go and I don't mind as long as she's here with me. Finally, the date is happening, thank you, Daphne!
Tell me about it but the ride is a deafening silence far from what I expected it to be it's like an employer traveling with his driver and in my case, I'm the driver and I'll be lucky if the passenger behind me even starts a conversation. But mine isn't the like to start one so I did.
"You don't mind if we close the windows right?" I noticed she rolled down the window on her side but I think it's better to turn on the air conditioner since traffic congestion produces so much polluted air and for someone who is making an impression I don't want her inhaling those. I'm glad we actually left early.
"If you want to," she said.
"Okay" This isn't exactly how I imagined our chat would be but I guess there is nothing I could do for now so I just drive in silence too.
We arrived at the restaurant just in time for dinner. I asked Daphne this morning where I should take Rachel out and she only had one answer for me. Thanks to my parents I'm actually familiar with the restaurant situated outside of town.
The place offers a contemporary style-like eatery which is becoming common nowadays but there most famous brand that makes them distinguishable from the others is the grand piano that they placed in the center of the garden. Anyone who wishes to play can do so and if you're lucky enough the owner who was a retired pianist usually gives his customers a mini-concert from time to time. I think that that's how this place lasted a decade and is becoming more and more popular aside from its new modern and friendly ambiance that welcomes its patrons.
I stepped out of the car first and run to her side but for what reason, she has already opened the door herself again. We did not need someone to assist us as we make our way to our table. I specifically requested for the spot that Daphne has instructed me. Not that this is my first time going out on a date but I want her to be in a comfortable state.
"Thank you," she said. When I pulled the chair for her. She was about to do it herself again but I'd made sure that I got to it first.
"You are welcome" believe me when I say my heart skipped again because this is the first time she talked to me first and even said 'thank you'
"I'll let you order for me," Rachel said as soon as she day down
"Are you sure? Don't you want to order for yourself? here" I said and handed her the menu but she pushed it away in refusal
"Impress me"
"Okay" really? Is that a challenge? Why am I nervous it is such a simple thing to do.
"Hm-mm. Anything is fine with me"
"I'll order water for you then" I joked.
"Sure. If that's the best you can offer" she said that so easily that I am now regretting what I just said. Gee, this girl is not someone to joke around with.
"I'm kidding. Fine I'll let her choose then" she said smiling, you know what I'm starting to think this girl has a multiple personality disorder no offense to those who have DID I fully support each and every one of you. But man this girl in front of me is like a two-faced person.
"Okay, you are Rachel right?"
"Huh?" I saw her eyebrow raise and I don't know why I feel like I'm about to stutter
"Nothing. Sorry," I just mumbled to myself when the waiter came to our table
"Hi, Good evening! I'm Bell. May I take your order?" The server said.
"Yes, please. How was your day?" Wow? Is she really Rachel the friend of Daphne?
"Couldn't be any better" the waiter smiled at the girl in front of me. I didn't know she could be this compassionate.
"That's good. What do you recommend?"
"I'll go for the Chef's salad she has new innovations that are a must-try," she said to Rachel who is intently listening
"I'll have a salad then" Rachel smiled at Bell.
"I'll have the same. Thank you"
"Okay. Would you like some water?"
"Yes please," I said as she pours some for us.
"Don't you want anything else?" I asked when the waitress left.
"No thank you. Salad is fine with me, how about you? Don't you want anything else?"
"No, I'm good too"
"Are you sure. It's okay to order more if you want to I'm just really not hungry right now"
"Yes. I'm actually already full just by looking at you"
"Huh?"
"Nothing" I smiled as I lean on my chair staring at the girl in front of me. The truth is I want to finish my meal the soonest because this is not the highlight of the evening that I've prepared.
"Suit yourself," she said and I just smiled back.
Our food came exactly fifteen minutes after ordering with a simple presentation but a very flavorsome dish. We ate in silence and the whole time I keep glancing at her. How could someone this beautiful join me for dinner right now? It's not like I don't want it. I love it! It just feels surreal that I actually found her.
