For the first time since I came back, I'm glad my Dad asked me to do some paperwork at least there's something to distract me. Recently I've been confused and it's making me crazy.

We were fine or so I thought.
I haven't been able to reach her since that night of the debut. Should I ask Dee? Am I too exaggerating? I mean maybe I'm the only one who thinks we're on the same side of the boat. Did I do something wrong? Was I way out of line? Argh!

Knock. Knock...

Knock! Knock!

Knock!! Knock!! " Hello to Earth Flute?!" My mom said in the background as she waves her hands at me.

I was startled as I shyly fixed my gaze her way. I'm sure she saw me losing my reality.

"Is something wrong?" She asked

"Nothings wrong mom, my thoughts on this"
I said and pretended to write on the piece of paper in front of me. I wouldn't want her to start with the teasing again although a part of me enjoys it. " What do you need?"

"Na-, I'm just checking up on you honey," she said with a wink.

Pew. That was quick? Can't believe my mom left the room just like that.

I shrugged the thought and continued to make myself occupied before my Dad comes back home and nags me about making excuses to not come and play golf with him. He said to be ready before 10 am,  funny because it's almost nine but I'm still half done with this. What is wrong with me, I've been sitting in my Dad's office for two hours, and all I've accomplished is think about Rachel.
I put the pen down as I reach for the telephone, a good thing my sister is close with Dee that she even has the number of the Restaurant. Not a second thought and I punched the numbers hoping I could listen to her voice after this.

"Hi, Dee. What's up?"

"Uh- Flute??" I could hear the voices of people in the background chattering, laughing and suddenly I felt guilty for calling at their peak hours.

"Yup. I was just wondering if you're busy"

"Actually I am, haha. Are you sure you are talking to the right person?"

"Yes, of course"

" Tss. Don't be ridiculous if I know you're gonna ask me about Rachel. Why you can't get a hold of her?"

"You caught me but how did you know? "

"You've been funny lately you know that but to answer your question I've known you for so long and you never once contact me without needing something or if it doesn't mean business..."

"Uh"

"I would gladly transfer the call to her office right now but I'm sorry she's not here.."

".. And I get this feeling your anxious because you can't reach her. Don't worry she just went on a vacation, you'll get a hold of her when she's willing to be reached" she said nonchalantly. Wow, I guess they really are the best of friends.

" Okay, that was embarrassing. How long is this vacation again?"

"A week or two perhaps a month. That depends on her"

"A week? A month??? Are you serious? You are saying I wouldn't be able to contact her that long?!"

"Yes Flute, you'll get used to it"

"Ha, what do you mean?"

"I'm sorry but it's a little busy here I'll have to call you back. Bye" Frustration crept inside of me but I can't blame Dee she's working right now and I should feel ashamed for acting like this.

Earlier I was thankful for this paperwork but now it's annoying and embarrassing to me that I have to talk to myself to focus and get the job done. I never lose focus, never, especially when it means business. This sucks!
