Chapter10

Mercedes POV
"Well, I think that we should put Cey as the cook. This food is fabulous!" Patty Sue smiled.

"Thank you..Ms Patty Sue but I can't do Saturday, I've got work." I said.

"Really Cey?" Honey frowned.

"Your cooking is the bomb!" She added.

"There's a bomb in her cooking?!" Old Pete said.

"No OP!" My mama smacked her teeth.

"Will you baby?" My mama pouted.

I sighed and folded my arms.

"I'll see what I can do about it.".

"Yes!" They all cheered.

I walked into the kitchen and continued with the dishes.

I felt a pair of arms around my waist. I instantly smelled Romeo.

"You okay?" He kissed my neck.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I semi smiled.

"What's up? I saw you in the living room, you weren't looking happy." He pulled off.

"I'm fine, just tired." I looked back at him.

"You sure?" He looked at me.

"Yes, I'm sure." I smiled.

"Gimme..?" He asked.

I gave him a kiss on his cheek.

He sat on the island and scrolled through his phone. After doing the dishes, everyone had left.

"Where's your car?" He asked me.

"Left it at home. My baby needed a rest." I grabbed my coat.

"Let me drop you home." He took my hand.

"Okay, let me say good night to my mom real quick." I let my hand slip out of his hand.

I quickly walked upstairs to my moms room and gave her a good night kiss.

I went back downstairs and found Romeo looking at a picture of me, my mom and my father.

"Whenever I used to come by to your house, I'd always wonder who this beautiful child was." He commented.

"Really?" I blushed.

He put his arm out so I could slide my arm through his.

We walked out of the house and he opened his car door for me. I got inside and put my seatbelt on.

"Urgh, I've got work tomorrow early morning." I unlocked my phone.

"What time?" He asked me.

"At 5:30. I've gotta sort out paperwork, go and see this family that need their bedrooms redoing and all that shit." I smacked my teeth.

He laughed.

"Hey, you wanted this job." He looked at me.

"I'm so tired, I just want my bed." I locked my phone after checking my messages and closed my eyes.

After sleeping for quite some time, he woke me up. I got out of the car and he walked me to the front door.

"You not coming in?" I looked for my key.

"I thought you wanted your bed?".

"Whatever." I laughed.

He walked inside the house with me and carried me up to my room.

Romeo POV
I heard some ringing shit going off. I opened my eyes and saw Mercedes climbing out of bed.

"Where you going?" I asked.

"Work." She tied her robe around her body.

"Oh right, I'll drop you off." I got out too.

We walked into her bathroom and I smacked her ass.

Her mouth opened and she made a little face. I let her have her personal space so she could have a shower. A nigga thought that she'd have maybe let me in.

After she was done, it was my turn. I just wore my clothes from yesterday again. When I get home, I was gonna get changed.

After coming out of a shower, I used a sore towel that Cey had left for me. I wrapped around the lower part of my body and went into her room.

I sat on her bed and checked my phone.

"I'd be happy to walk to work if you don't hurry your ass up." She said and stood in front of me.

I looked up and saw her in her lingerie.

"Girl you still in your panties and bra." I shook my head.

"Romeo.." She folded her arms.

"Hol' up, lemme call up my grams." I stood up.

I called up my grandma but she didn't answer.

After trying to get a hold of her, I got ready. I headed downstairs and joined Mercedes for breakfast.

"I made us some scrambled eggs on toast. I ain't got time to be cooking a full breakfast." She sat down.

"No worries baby." I smiled.

We began eating as quick as we could then we left the house.

"Okay, you heading to the office first or..?" I asked.

"Yeah, the office first. I need to sort some papers out." She nodded her head.

I drove her down to her office which wasn't too far.

I got out of my seat and went over to open the door for her. When she got out, she went on the tip toes and gave me a peck on the lips.

"I'll come and pick you up here at 5." I told her.

"Hm, okay." She smiled.

She walked away and I just stared at her blessed behind.

Getting inside my car, I headed home. I needed to go to the gym afterwards to work it a little. Once I parked my car, I found my grandma at my doorstep.

"Boy! I've been calling yo' ass for how long!" She shouted at me.

"You got your grams worried! I thought you was gonna die or somethin'!" She hit me with her purse.

"Grandma! I'm ok, I was with Mercedes last night. I stayed over at hers." I chuckled.

"I hope you not getting her pregnant! She a good girl now, she's left her past. Now open the damn door!" She smacked her teeth.

"Nah, we taking things slow grandma." I chuckled.

"Hm, guess who came knocking on the door." She sat down on my couch removing her silk gloves.

"Who?" I poured my self a glass of orange juice.

"So you ain't gonna pour yo grandma some?" She said.

"Here." I sighed.

"Anyways, yo' pops came by and wanted to see you." She drank her juice.

"Fuck that ol' nigga! Why does he wanna see me fo'?!" I smacked my teeth.

"He says he wants to talk 'business' with you." She looked down.

"Talk business? What business? He gon' tell me how he killed my moms?!" I slammed my palm on the table.

"Romeo! He's already said that he's sorry!" Grandma jumped a little.

"Sorry for killing her, abusing her, raping her?! What the fuck is going through yo' mind grams?!" I shouted.

"I am sick and tired of you shouting! Now you never let your father explain to you! It breaks my heart everyday knowing that my baby girl isn't here with me! Go to your father and listen to him! Let him explain!" Grams stood up.

"I wasted my time trying to call your stubborn ass!" She walked out of my house.

I sighed and sat down on the couch.

After so many years, he wants to talk to me now? It's probably because he heard that I've got the money, that's all.
